Bloomberg: '55 percent chance' Trump will win reelection
The Hill ^ | May 31, 2017 | Jacqueline Thomsen

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg thinks there's a "55 percent chance" President Trump will be reelected in 2020.

Bloomberg, who politically identifies as independent, told New York Times columnist Frank Bruni that he thought Democrats didn't have an effective message to win the 2016 election and could repeat that mistake in 2020.

“Hillary said, ‘Vote for me because I’m a woman and the other guy’s bad,’” Bloomberg said about 2016. He said Democrats are still looking for issues and messages. And he worries that too many Democrats are eager to jump into the 2020 race.

“They’ll step on each other and re-elect Donald Trump,” Bloomberg said.

Bloomberg endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016 and spoke at the Democratic National Convention, calling Trump a "dangerous demagogue."

I thought it was received wisdom that he'll soon be impeached? The Left needs to have a meeting and get their stories straight.

The funny thing is she got more votes than Obama in the 2008 primary and more votes than Trump in the 2016 election.

That’s an amazing improvement. On Election Day, Trump had only a 1% to 15% chance of winning according to most sources. The 55% chance in 2020 reassures me.

“A 55% chance the democrats will get their asses handed to them by Trump again...”

Sounds better that way, dontchathink?

I would say 80% The dems will put a throw away candidate or loser Hillary again. NOTHING the dems have done has turned a single Trump voter against him. If anything the constant whining has solidified his base. Does anyone here care if Trump was mean to a poor little pajama boy reporter?

Uh oh. Don’t do this. The pollsters were so horribly off. I’d prefer to see him trailing by 5.

I'd be willing to wager that despite how he understands his chances in 2020 DJT won't run.Long story as to why I believe that but it has to do with him saying to himself “I've accomplished most of what I wanted to accomplish, now I'll hand over to Mike Pense”.

I wouldn’t rule that out but I think he has found out how slow things move in DC so to get what he wants accomplished; he will have to have a second term and that’s when you have your own party working with you. The GOPe is actively working against President Trump. I just hope all the voters know this and primary their asses out next time they are up for election. I wish we could have primaried that douche bag McLame here in AZ but a lot of the old folks, misguided vets, and dems voted for him. I can almost guarantee you no Freeper did.

Then I hope Mike Pence is the clear winner in 2024 with an equally good VP.

2020 is a long way off and anything can happen, but:

1) If Trump’s economic policies begin to take hold and the economy revs up

2) If the wall begins going up

He’ll be reelected in a landslide. We’ll know for sure by looking at who the Dims run in 2020. If they put up a sacrificial lamb, they know it’s over.

Good points. Sadly for Hillary, running up the score in popular votes in liberal states such as Calif. doesn’t translate into more electoral votes.

And the same concept applies to the 2008 contest with Obama for the nomination. Hillary’s people didn’t understand the rules in some states, which had caucuses instead of primary elections to choose their delegates. Obama got many more delegates from states with caucuses.

What if the wall is up an we still have a flood of illegals? Basic conservative economics say that as long as we incentive illegal immigration, they will find their way here. No one is talking about disincentivizing illegal immigration. No wall will change that.
