President Donald Trumps campaign manager is pushing him to hold firm in his ongoing battle with Democrats over funding for a border wall with Mexico.
Brad Parscale is making his pitch as Trump continues to negotiate with Democrats over border wall funding with the possibility of another government shutdown looming in less than three weeks.
As part of his pitch, Parscale is presenting the President with internal data that shows voters in key swing areas believe a border wall or fence is needed.
After the shutdown ended, Parscale commissioned a GOP firm to test the Presidents job performance and his border policies in 10 swing House districts where Democrats won in November. The chosen districts allow Parscale to show how staying the course could put pressure on House Democrats and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to break their so far steadfast opposition to funding a border wall....

uhhhh...Chuck and Nancy don’t want to “save face”. They’ve already won on the “build the wall” issue! They will continually “just say no” to the wall, while Trump gives them momentum. He should’ve done that Executive Order, at least for two years of the wall, when he said he would. Now, he looks foolish EVERY DAY Chuck and Nancy say “no wall” and he says “I could do something if I want to”. Why the heck would they cede him anything?
Do you think Ivanka should be “helping” in the WH? She’s a NYC elitist liberal who supports Planned Parenthood. She thinks she had a successful business career because she made lots of money selling stuff with the Trump name on it. She has no background or inclination that would make her sympathetic to the Deplorable Agenda.
Bummer - part of the PC culture says that adjusted folks need to walk on eggshells so the emotionally cripple social misfits don’t get their feelings hurt...what does longevity have to do with having a grip on things?
I think a President has the right to staff anyone he wants to bump things off of ... Trump doesn’t mind folks giving him feedback he disagrees with because he doesn’t require absolute toadies.
If she was in position to actually make/enact/enforce decisions, I would have a problem with it.
I still love what Carol O’Connor said when accused of nepotism for getting his wayward son a job on his series...”Of course it’s nepotism, that’s what parents do, they help their kids get a job.”
She may not need the job but I won’t fault him for having his kid boosting her future creds.
It's Mike Huckabee's daughter who was brought up to embrace and respect the values and priorities we hold dear, and she's a wonderful Press Secretary because of it.
There is a difference!!
With Executive Order, it could get tied up in courts.
With congressional appropriation, there will be no delay.
Trump is using EO as a threat to get Congress to do it first if possible.
If Congress fails, you will see EO quickly.
Tell you what: Come back to me with a very rude “told you so” when/if President Trump does begin the wall by EO when the three weeks are over. I will deserve it, after the cynicism I’ve so openly expressed. <^..^>
Must be cherry picking season - you totally ignored the last line of my post.
But I do agree that Sarah Huckabee Sanders is a national treasure - actually tweeted it to he.
PS - Carol O’Connor got his son a part on “In the Heat of the Night”
