The Trump campaign is considering putting resources into Oregon, CNN has learned, a state where Hillary Clinton beat the President by 11 percentage points in 2016.
In fact, Oregon is so blue that it has not voted for a Republican for president since 1984. But the Trump campaign is flush with cash and is looking for ways to spend its money and time wisely while Democrats duke it out for the chance to run against President Donald Trump.
CNN obtained a memo to the Trump campaign from pollster Tony Fabrizio about ideas for "expanding the map" to give the President more options for getting the 270 electoral votes needed to win the re-election, where he mentions looking at Oregon.
In the memo, Fabrizio maintains that New Hampshire, New Mexico and Nevada -- all states that Trump lost in 2016 -- are now "highly competitive." Those are three states where the Trump campaign already has resources on the ground.
Same goes for Minnesota, another state where Clinton beat Trump in 2016, but Fabrizio says to "keep an eye on" this cycle.
Oregon, however, is no-man's-land for the national GOP. The last Republican to make an early play for Oregon was George W. Bush during his 2004 reelection bid, since he had come within 8,000 votes of Al Gore there in 2000. But Bush lost Oregon to John Kerry by 4 percentage points.
Still, a senior Trump campaign source tells CNN that they are considering hiring staff to "test the waters" in Oregon after hearing from Fabrizio and talking to National Republican Congressional Committee counterparts. The committee is also hoping to recruit a strong GOP candidate to challenge longtime Democratic Rep. Peter DeFazio.

In Oregon? Good idea, but make sure bulletproof, shatterproof glass is used on all windows. Have cameras switched on 24/7,and fixed into place near the highest roofs.
I guarantee you, the Oregon Libs will try to destroy and disrupt, vs tolerate. I would say the same thing were this being built in Berkeley, Oakland or San Francisco too.
A caller from CA told Rush today to have Trump come to the state. He can point out what libs have done to tear it apart. The evidence is plain to see. Ive been thinking about what they discussed. Its an idea that Im beginning to really like.
They sure better not be taking Michigan for granted. Trump’s campaign rally here that lasted into the early hours of Election Day is what probably won him the state.
Nice to be reminded that the campaign is flush with cash.
OK, you can all thank me for my monthly $25 contribution, my very first EVER political contribution (and I'm almost 68 years old).
I've read we have a lot of first-time ever campaign contributors here on FR. We all believe he is the very first politician worthy of our money.

I think the President should visit all 50 states at least once. Large or small rally, but every state.
Ask for all the peoples votes.
I don’t think Trump can win in Oregon, but it is an interesting idea and with his stamina and campaign in full swing it is worth a little effort to put them on defense.
Part of this strategy might be to have cameras ready to ‘tag’ the Antifa folks, their destruction of public structures and use it for TV commercials....make the Democrats explain the damage.
And don’t put Trump stickers on your cars!
Rushs point was Dems cant go to CA and promise them anything but more crap in the streets, more needles, more crime. Trump can say look at how jobs came back here and factories came back there. The Dems own those states like CA and wont go there. Trump can tell them why. Its an idea worth thinking about.
I stopped using bumperstickers way back in Bush One years.
It’s easy to spot a hard core Lib around here; their car is plastered with unrequested advice, preachings and curses against the president.
Okay, host a rally in Portland and jail any protesters with FEDERAL charges. Remove them from the streets and community. Outside of the urban areas, I suspect Trump will do well. Problem is the cluster of anti-American people in Portland.
Did you happen to see that seattle opioid documentary, i think seattle and portland could have a political rebellion someday. Things getting too bad with crime needles poo disease camps
I live in CA. caring for a VERY ELDERLY parent, as soon as this parent passes I am relocating and my first choice was Idaho I am SO HAPPY to see that Idaho would be a GREAT choice!!! OMG if this were on my car here there would be a bomb planted on the vehicle while I was working NO KIDDING!!!
DeFazio is my Rep. His district was gerrymandered to keep him in. But he represents an area that is growing in conservatism. He is HIGGLY vulnerable if there were a credible Challenger.
Also, if there were assests to GOTV such that Republicans thought they had a chance....Trump could win here. I really believe that.
Oops... HIGHLY
Good for you. Nice to know some areas of the states remain more tolerant. I would never try that over here. Not leaving it alone in a big Safeway Grocery lot. Too many busybodies from Greenbrae, Tiberon and Kentfield.
