Republican Bill Janklow leads Democrat Stephanie Herseth by seven points in their race for the U.S. House, according to a statewide poll, but a substantial portion of voters have yet to make their choice.
Janklow, the four-term governor of the state, was favored by 47 percent of the respondents to the poll, commissioned by the Argus Leader and KSFY-TV. Political newcomer Herseth was picked by 40 percent of those interviewed.

Nice bounce-back for Janklow in this poll. He had trailed by 3 points in the previous independent poll, though he had not really started campaigning at that time.
