Done.
I wrote a very nice e-mail.
Rush has done more to help the conservative cause than any man I can think of. Heck, if it weren't for Rush paving the way, many radio personalities wouldn't be here today.
We owe him our support and prayers.

Your tagline says "no on recall, yes on Bustamonte", and I'm supposed to take you seriously? Nice way to change the subject.
Answer his question.

I listen to 1210 in Philly. They have the same daytime lineup save for 6AM-9AM, which is Michael Smirkanish (sp?), and Jeff Katz from 6PM-8PM?. I like the Smirkanish show but don't care to listen to Katz. So THAT'S where Jeff Katz landed. He was run out of San Francisco by radio industry writer Bill Mann, who in a S.F. Examiner story, deliberately mischaracterized a controversy regarding Katz and his joke about hitting Mexicans who dash across highways into the US.
Mann tried to do the same thing to Michael Savage, who was just a local host at the time. As you know, it didn't work.

The Rush Limbaugh Show should continue in spite of his current difficulties. In my opinion, his show should continue on with "guest" conservative hosts even in the event of his death. That's how important his show is to me, whether he's there or not. I agree. Rush has started a fire burning that needs to keep on going. I'm making it a point to listen daily. I want the full EIB network intact when he's ready to return.

Rush DEFENDED Bush for MONTHS during the height of the media smears against Bush and his war against Iraq - why do you think Bush came out and defended Rush and called him "A Great American" after the Enquirer story broke??? Exactly. How soon they forget...
I can excuse the libs for being short on memory, but we conservatives have to do better. We certainly gain nothing by taking potshots at the man who woke up the sleeping giant. I'd like to think we're not so fickle as that. Surely not.

"I'm Republican even though I tend toward a pro-choice stance with regard to regulating abortion by law, because I see abortion as a religious issue as opposed to a secular one."
That's in your profile.
Am I supposed to take any of your criticism of Rush's show seriously, based on such a weak and pathetic position on infanticide? You 'tend' toward a pro-choice stance? How do you feel about home invasion? Do you frown on it?
Keep that dial tuned to sports radio - its about your speed.

I like the Smirkanish show but don't care to listen to Katz. Tune to 710 AM at 6:00 instead. Bob Grant (5-7)and Michael Savage (from 7-9) make a killer combination. Switch back over to 1210 for "Dom Time" (Dom Giordano) at 8. (or afterwards at 9 if you want to hear both hours of Savage)
1210 AM has done a FANTASTIC job of supporting Rush, by the way. They made new commercials expressing their support for him, and have gone out of their way in my opinion to help. And it's spelled Smerconish.

. . . griping on domestic economic, budget, immigration and race policies. Do you have cites on immigration? I've never heard Rush say a word about immigration - unless it was tied to a welfare issue, as in that California referendum.

Actually, MM, I am quite sure that the polling that was done showed that McC would have won in a 2-way against Busta if Arnie dropped out. The voters really were interested in changing the administration, and Busta wasn't going to do that. In fact, about a third of them were most angry at the illegal immigrant driver's licensing, and that was certainly not going to be changed by Busta.

Well, that may have been, but remember, McClintock wasn't demonized by the Gray Davis slime machine because he wasn't the front-runner. Had he been the only viable candidate, the voters would have received a slightly different view of him, to say the least.
You may be right, but it definitely wasn't a sure thing.

I agree it would have changed the dynamics, and we'll never know how voters might have behaved if Arnie had dropped out. I was just stating what I think the polls showed, though I do agree with you it wasn't a sure thing.

Great pictures and letter!
Even if ratings for his show are going down now--that's to be expected; I often didn't listen when Rush was gone, unless my favorite, Sean Hannity, was guest hosting. I don't think I was alone in that.
I'm sure that Rush's fans will be back in droves when he returns.
And let's all pray for his recovery--it sounds like it is unbelievably difficult.

I seem to remember him actually using Chris Matthews at some time in the past - it was pretty fun listening to him debate callers. Too much water has flowed under the bridge since then, though.
Problem is that anybody else decent already has something going, and couldn't do it other than sporadically, and everybody else is too dry.
