I think the quarterly freepathons are a good thing. That way the same people are not doing all the contributing and you get new contributors.
Plus, I thought each charge was 20 cents or so. So each quarterly contribution saved 40 cents in processing.

Factor in the individual time devoted to the QFAT and I believe the monthlies come out ahead.
You make good points about getting new donors. At this time, I don't see them going away even if we do very well getting people on monthlies. What it does do is turn a 2-3 week marathon into a couple day walk in the park. I'm all for easing the burden on the FAT team.

Will this be retroactive for those who are already monthy doners?

I believe I still qualify as a dollar a day freeper; that is if you are using the calendar year vice a new fiscal year on 1 Oct.
To: Fred Mertz
This promotion is targeted at getting people to sign up as a monthly donor. If you are on Dec 1, you'll receive a mug.
It is not intended to slight those who donate during the FAT's. Jim may decide to send a thank you gift to those who may not qualify under this effort.

Jim,
I believe when I agreed to $100 per month, it was for one years duration. I feel slighted that you have taken the additional $ from me instead of allowing me to contribute them. Please discontinue billing me for any monthly charges.
Thanx alaskanfan
To: alaskanfan
Sorry, we don't have a system with a cut off at a certain point. The processing is done automatically by a program and once submitted the processing is done every month until the monthly donor says stop.
If it went beyond the point you wanted it to and would like a refund, please let me know and we will happily credit your account or send a refund check.
Thank you for your support.
Jim
To: Jim Robinson
I don't believe a refund is necessary. I just think if I pledge to contribute $100 for a year, that the contributions should stop after one year without me having to say something.
I want to feel like I am actually contributing to a worthy cause and not being taken advantage of.
To: alaskanfan
I'm truly sorry that it didn't automatically cutoff at the end of a year. We should have such a system.
Thanks again,
Jim
To: Bob J
I've already started a monthly donation and will continue to do so. It's the least I could. And, yes I totally agree with you.

I'm sorry. It was unintentional. We simply do not have an end or stop date on the monthly donations. They are automatically charged every month until the donor says stop. The program also automatically sends a reminder email message every month a few days before the donation is processed and it has a link so the donor can change or stop the donation.
Again, I am truly sorry.
Thanks,
Jim

Thanx Jim
It wouldn't be a problem but I need a new pistol.
I guess I should keep my e-mail address updated so I would get the notification.
Thanx alaskanfan
