[history]
Dear Rush, I resent your politics. If you've read my rants about you and your brethren Talk Radio Lords Of Loud you know I am a flaming liberal whose stomach ties in knots when listening to the El Rushbo Excellence in Broadcasting network. That said.... You go, Rush! I'm with you.

Best thing I've read from a liberal yet, on the subject of Rush...

And my best to Steve Y as well!
We could use more liberals like this gentleman!

Undoubtedly the only positive, understanding thing written by a liberal I've read yet.
Evan Thomas from Newsweek, are you reading this?
Considering the Newsweek reporter's grandfather ran for President as a Socialist, I think he MIGHT be a bit more partisan towards the liberal goals as this author, but its hard to say.
Whether the press treats Rush fair or not, I'm still there with him.

I wish the LP was half the gentleman this liberal is.

Good article. Still, he's one of those who can't distinguish between Rush's schtick and his real attitudes toward himself. Most of the ego thing is a put on, for entertainment value, making fun of the very personality liberals hate. But liberals never grasp that.

Wow! I'm speechless.
Good post.

Rush has had a HUGE impact on my understanding of the way the government works, or doesn't. We can hope that when he returns he will have a wonderful opportunity to educate many more people on the workings of this country. Maybe turn a few more liberals around in the process....
To: livesbygrace
Expect this poor guy to be ostracized by his political party soon.
We'll be seeing him here after that as a disillusioned man.

Nice article. The guy seems actually to like Rush.
Am I understanding correctly, I wonder, that Young sees Hillary as a monster?

This is the sort of liberal I hate hating. There was a time when liberals were honestly good people who wanted to do good by truly encouraging sharing largesse and properly advocating equal rights when there was true personal and institutional racism.
Thn they started winning -- and with winning came a power base, and when the wins were no longer needed they devolved into the screetching, victimizing, hating, power-hungry racists that we see on display daily in the Democratic Party, running most print and video media, and playing pandering victimhood politics daily. Just as Gollum was once a man and degenerated into a vile creature, so did the love of the "Precious" power do the same to Liberals.
There are so few true liberals of good conscience that it is very rare to actualy see one. This is a good reminder to us that being Liberal isn't necessarily evil, but that most modern "Liberals" are evil. The few that aren't are more interested in feeling good than doing good.

Interesting analogy - except that Gollum wasn't a *man* - he had been a kind of hobbit!
Also, I think you are being too kind to liberals. Maybe the liberal ideology was once kind of good (just stupid) but liberals today made a decision to turn to the dark side. That's why they chose liberal ideology. I was born and raised an ULTRA liberal, I have seen it from the inside. It is like the Mafia but way worse. At least the Mafia has some internal consistency. At least the Mafia has a point or two where it intersects with reality. But liberalism is the photo-negative of reality. It is ALL wrong, all the time.
(Actually that is hyperbole, they get a couple of small points right, but I won't go into them here.)
To: livesbygrace
So, my fellow recoveree, don't drink, don't use and don't ever give up. I wish you Godspeed and triumph in the most formidable challenge you'll ever face.
I can't wait to start hating you again. WOW .. a liberal with a heart and a sense of humor ..
Who would have thunk it?

The biggest difference in the old-line liberals and today's crowd is simple. FDR, Harry Truman, even Hubert H. Humphrey loved this country. Their politics may have been wrong-headed at times, but there was no doubting their love for this country. Today's liberals despise the U.S. and all it stands for and all that has made it great.
