Lurker, we have gone over alot of records and research on Michael and it is a matter of doubting MS's veracity for it was his implication of the potassium problem. Even if Terri dieted and used too much sodium or didn't get enough potassium, yes it could reek hell on her health. But we believe that any health excuse is just a matter of fueling MS. With many affadavits to the contrary, physical abuse is extremely indictive of what truly happened to Terri.

I've seen potassium and sodium deficiency and what it does is not pretty, but in Terri's case to many of us it is not even an issue.

This issue has never been a matter of "MS's veracity." He's not the one who found that there was a potassium deficiency. It was the doctors.

As it stands, Terri's potassium deficiency was established upon her admission to the hospital after her collapse. The $1.5 million award does NOT establish that the potassium deficiency existed PRIOR to that. They were punitive damages for the doc not CHECKING, which is wholly different from establishing that it existed while Terri was under their care.

You're welcome, Lurker. My pleasure. Felos said something about this on LKL last evening. The two docs were sued (OB/GYN and regular doc) because they never did blood work to see why Terri wasn't getting pregnant. Their theory, and I stress THEORY, is that the potassium deficiency existed prior to her collapse and if blood tests were done by either of those docs, it would have been detected and her collapse prevented. It's a nice theory and they were lucky that they had a sympathetic jury. Neither, however, establish that the potassium deficiency existed prior to her collapse.

I agree, No More Gore. It isn't general practice, but if you have good attorneys and a sympathetic jury, you can win based on theory alone. It doesn't matter if it is common practice or not. What matters is whether or not you can get a jury to THINK it SHOULD have been done.

BTW, congratulations on your success! I have a friend who is in the beginning phases of invitro fertilization. She's been trying for approx. 8 years to conceive on her own and, for the past two years, with fertility treatments.

In my post, that you were replying to, I was speculating only about insurance, not other financial harvest that Schiavo or Felos might reap. And admitting that even though none of us has the facts about policies Michael may have, he is still hard to believe. Therefore I was wondering if it were possible that he has already managed, by some finagling, to get at the insurance money (if any) while Terri is alive.
As to the other issue---unless Schiavo and Felos are convicted of murder or similar crime here, I doubt the Schindlers can stop them from writing their books or selling their stories. First Amendment would prevail.
I am aware of the delusions of Mr. Felos, since I have been here reading Terri threads, probably 95% of all the thousands of them, for a solid two weeks here. I have indeed thought about these things, and have no doubt at all that Schiavo and Felos will attempt to cash in on their wickedness, however it resolves.
Hope that clears up where I stand. (Beats reading all my other posts, which are indeed numerous.)

I am sick. Sick, shocked and confused, that I live in a country where a woman is sentenced to die a slow, tortuous death from starvation by an unfaithful husband and an implacable judge. (''Brain-damaged wife being allowed to die,'' Oct. 16)

A woman who cannot speak for herself. A woman who has loving parents and siblings who want to care for her.

A woman who has not been given an adequate opportunity to rehabilitate.

A woman who has had extensive brain damage, but is not a ''vegetable.''

The case of Terri Schindler-Schiavo, whose feeding tube was removed by court order on Wednesday, hits too close to home for comfort. I also depend on a feeding tube for all my nutrition.

Without my communication device, my garbled speech would make as little sense as Terri's grunts. Many people have mistaken me for a mannequin because of my paralysis, but I am very much alive.

We are not always what we seem.

Unlike Terri, my husband-caregiver is my strongest advocate. Mr. Schiavo is nothing short of a villain.

The electric chair was deemed an inhumane method of carrying out the death penalty in most states. How, then, can a judge sanction the slow starvation of an individual who has committed no crime?

Make no mistake, this is murder. If no one will stop this travesty of justice, let it, at least, be mercifully quick.

Bill Gates has given considerable cash to Pro Abortion Causes through his Bill and Milinda Gates Foundation, Particularly Planned Parenthood. Don't really know about any pro euthanasia donations from this foundation but anyone who donates to an organization that supports abortion certainly deserves watchdogging in this department as well in my book.
