Perhaps Bush should just make a command decision and step in and pardon him post haste.
He'd get faulted for that, too. But it might be the quickest and MOST painless way.

West went to the detention center, brought the detainee outside and fired his 9 mm pistol twice to scare him into talking.
Don't they have anything else better to do. Let the man do his job! Seemed effective to me.

The system will hem and haw around untill this becomes old news.
The LTC will be given a letter of reprimand (since there was no injury to the Iraqi) and be allowed to retire.
He has retained one of the best civilian UCMJ lawyers around, so there is little chance of his going to prison or being tossed out early.
What he did was not right, but was done for all the right reasons. There may be politics involved, or there were witnesses that were not part of the US military that complained, ie; Red Cross, UN, or some other group.
This guy's career is over.

If I were Bush, not only would I force the Army to drop any impending charges, I'd promote him to full colonel for a job well done.
Speaking as an armchair warrior and fan of the movie "Patton"

Agreed. American lives were saved by Col. West's actions. N
And the colonel was a marked man by the actors in that neighborhood.
We are not going to win by the WOT by seeing how "nice" we can play with the Islamofascists.

Not just a state of war in Iraq but guerilla warfare.
I hope our soldiers are not being killed trying to play nice while murderers are plotting their next ambush. This news makes me angry.

I know Tommy Lee Jones is a good actor, but do you think he would play a good black man? That would really show some range!
The good Colonel is African American. lol.

Article 15 the Light Colonel and be done with it.
He forfeits a promotion and gets out. No harm, no foul.

I am just wondering what the purpose of this rule is. Not allowed to threaten the use of force... What kind of mamby pamby rule is this? Can anyone explain it to me.

Denzel is an overacting liberal fool .... Samuel L Jackson is the best choice ....
I would have mentioned Lawrence Fishburn except that I heard he sold his soul to liberalism too.
