"Doc" captures the drama and comedy of big city medicine as seen through the eyes of Clint Cassidy (Billy Ray Cyrus), a handsome country doctor from Montana whose love for a woman took him to the Big Apple. Clint's down-to-earth style and bedside manner endears him to the patients at his Manhattan HMO, but he encounters resistance from his colleagues and the system. Never losing his values, common sense and "fish out of water" demeanor, Clint adjusts to an urban lifestyle, forming new relationships and stumbling upon new adventures along the way.
Created by Dave and Gary Johnson ("Against the Grain," "Second Noah," "High Incident" and PAX's "Hope Island") this series captures the drama and comedy of big city life when seen through the eyes of a newcomer.

The title of the thread should say 11/16/03... sorry about that.

Hmmm... never saw the show, but the synopsis sounds like the parallel to "Northern Exposure".

How come I always get a doctor whose skinny as a rail, says I remind him of his mother and has a bad case of acne?

Not really. But it is a good show. Doc and Sue Thomas are about the only thing worth watching - only things I watch - on TV anymore.

I was thinkin' the same thing....
I get the the Doogie Howser's.

Hey, thanks for the ping and post! I hope they indeed televise it. They had replays on from earlier seasons shows already this fall and skipped showing some of the new episodes. I think partly they competed with the World Series on week. But from the previews I saw at then end of last Sundays episode, this looks like it might be interesting to watch. They get the message out, for certain.

BTW, any idea where N.E. might be
syndicating?
I miss Holling.

Thanks for the heads up!

I've never seen this show.
My doctor in Washington State was very good-looking, and my son's surgeon is gorgeous, but my most recent doctor (physician's assistant, actually) was attractive yet he kept calling me, "Dear" as if I was his grandma. *snif*
Nice-looking doctors happen - but good doctors? We can only pray....

And giving him a series is the payoff?
Wouldn't surprise me.
