Blockbuster flees from "The Reagans"
11/14/03

Dear Member,

Thank you for contacting Blockbuster. Your inquiry asked about a possible sponsorship by BLOCKBUSTER for the upcoming Ronald Reagan mini-series on CBS.

Please note that Blockbuster has nothing to do with that project, and we have no plans to advertise on the program. CBS is responsible for the development, production and broadcasting of the mini-series, and any comments you may have should be directed to CBS at audsvcs@cbs.com.

We hope this answers the question you have raised, and we look forward to seeing you in one of our stores soon.

Regards, Blockbuster Care

If you do sponsor the upcoming execrable slander of Ronald Reagan, not only will I boycott your products, I will post such on the many websites I manage and will also urge all I know to do the same.

Sincerely,

Blockbuster, like newspapers, is dead issue. They are through, except for those who may not afford disch or cable & have only those customers which may want games cheap. They are hitting the criminal aliens-tv espanol is however, also available to any illegal who works & has cash.

Sorry... you can still boycott Blockbuster and not feel bad.

You see - Blockbuster is owned by Viacom, the same company that owns CBS and Showtime, the new venue for "The Reagans".

I know that Blockbuster, CBS and Showtime (and Paramount) are all part of Viacom, so I assume that is why someone wrote to Blockbuster.

What I don't get is why would someone assume that Blockbuster would be advertising on a future "pay-for-view" showing of "the Reagans" when Pay-for-view by design doesn't have advertisers.

Blockbuster hardly sponsors first run TV movies. I'm hard pressed to remember when it did that.

In any case, this flick, The Reagans, has been dumped from the CBS schedule - where it would have been shown just once and interrupted with commercials - and instead picked up by Showtime, which will show it, without interruptions and several times in the course of a month or two, making it very likely it will reach a much broader audience and that viewers will preserve it on their VCRs.

Good post. Businesses make their money from customers. When customers get mad at businesses, the businesses naturally take note. We applaud Blockbuster as a company of solid American business sense.

Good.

If we make our voice heard we will be respected.

Take the case of Blockbuster.

Blockbuster is in the business of renting videos.

They are NOT in the business of making their customers unhappy.

Your voice counts, Say it Loud, I'm Conservative and PROUD!
