  • 30,340 First 6 Months -- List of Sponsor Arrangements of Unaccompanied Children by State

    07/25/2014 6:36:43 AM PDT · by afraidfortherepublic · 23 replies
The application window for HHS grants under the Unaccompanied Alien Children program just closed yesterday. According to the data included in the application the average length of stay for a UAC is 30-35 days prior to unification with a sponsor. Most (95%+) of the sponsors are relatives of the child. Most sponsors reunited are the mothers of the children (85%+) who actually brought them along and there is never a disconnect. All sponsors are subsidized by taxpayers at an average cost of around $4,000 to $6,000 per child/per month. A custodial ‘sponsor’ (mother) with three UAC’s will net about $12,000...

Jerusalem, 15 December 2011 -- R. David Weisskopf filed a $20 million lawsuit against the United Jewish Appeal yesterday in U.S. Federal Court. (Case No. 6:11-CV-668) The lawsuit alleges the United Jewish Appeal donated over one billion dollars to anti-father lobbyists such as Bar Ilan Universitys Rackman Institute which aggressively pressures the Israeli Knesset to revive Social Darwinian laws against fathers. Bar Ilans Rackman Institute sponsors conferences in which judges and social workers get "educated" about the benefits of visitation refusals, and encouraged to tear children away from fathers and break up family units. DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. With the NASCAR season revving up at Daytona International Speedway this week, companies still have a chance to associate themselves with the sport's most popular driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. And they can do so at the relative bargain-bin prices found in NASCAR's second-tier Nationwide series. In happier economic times a few years ago, the possibility of such a deal would have triggered a stampede of potential sponsors tradin' paint with briefcases as they raced from the boardroom to the track. But as of this week, the Earnhardt family's JR Motorsports team had sponsorship contracts in hand...

CBS is in jeopardy of a cruel reality check that could and should cost some executives their jobs. The two-part miniseries that CBS apparently intends to run during the crucial November sweeps may well have the opposite effect of network programmers desire. Traditionally, networks try to walk the razors edge in offering programming that pushes the envelope while concurrently remaining sensitive to those whom they offend. The ultimate objective is to acquire the largest audience. Audience, after all, is REALLY the product not the program or the star. It is the audience that is sold to sponsors. Sponsors are...

The head of a Washington, D.C. - based media watchdog group is asking that advertisers demand to preview a planned CBS mini-series on former President Ronald Reagan before sponsoring the program. Media Research Center President L. Brent Bozell Tuesday sent a letter to each of the nation's top 100 advertisers, urging them to preview the movie before making a sponsorship decision because it is what Bozell called a "partisan political attack against one of America's most beloved presidents." A review of the script by New York Times reporter Jim Rutenberg noted the two-part mini-series, scheduled for broadcast next month, makes...

http://www.cbs.com/info/user_services/fb_global_form.shtml I believe that it is important to not only explain our displeasure to cBS (required) but to politely explain that as many people as possible will be targeting... I mean, explain our displeasure with their sponsors. Write this to them. Maybe small, but if we find current sponsors, email them, and let cBS know that we will boycott their sponsors, and let their sponsors KNOW that we let cBS know, it may create friction between them. I find it doubtful that this will result in their pulling the flick, but we need to keep up the pressure.

A fellow FReeper posed an interesting legal question: "I'm not a lawyer, but it occurs to me that there may be another avenue for legal recourse and I'd like your opinion. Suppose the CEO of one of the sponsors of this slime attack learns that the program is controversial and could lead to a boycott of his product or service. Doesn't he have a fiduciary responsibility to the shareholders to assure that advertising expenditures support his business goals and not detract from them ? Could a shareholder's suit be brought ? If the company proceeds, could the FEC rule that...

Is there a sponsor list yet for this show? Im sure theyd love to hear how people will respond if they are sponsoring a hit piece on President Reagan and his family. As I understand the libel and slander laws Reagan is a public figure as such in order to recover damages you have to prove that CBS, the Producers, etc knew the info was false and went ahead and recklessly with the false info. What can be done to maximize CBS's exposure to the Reagans and others successful libel case?

(Boy, I hope this works) Dr. Scarpetta posted the list of sponsors for CBS's upcoming "Reagan Rip Job" movie to the PA board this morning. I've compiled a list of links to e mail the sponsors so we can let them know exactly what we think of them helping to spread slanderous lies about one of the finest Presidents we've ever had. If the links work like they should, you should go directly to a page to email them. If anyone can find e mail addresses for the four that I couldn't, please post. Thank you Dr. Scarpetta!!!...

Schools consider business sponsors Strapped area districts looking at individual, corporate donors to raise funds Wednesday, October 22, 2003 BY PATTY MAHER News Staff Reporter It may not be too long before public school baseball games are "brought to you" by corporate sponsors, or plaques recognizing major individual donors are unveiled at ribbon cuttings for new public school buildings. School district officials say they are tired of federal and state budget reductions like the potential $200-per-student cut the state announced last week. They say they may start looking to private businesses and individuals to fill in the gaps. Dexter's board...

Reel Believer Beer companies keep hanging big bucks in front of pro fisherman Jimmy Houston, but he isn't about to take the bait. By Eric Tiansay Well-known fishing pro Jimmy Houston does believe in prayer, but the Baptist deacon says he didn't need to talk to God when faced with a career dilemma. Considered by many as America's most famous fisherman and host of the ESPN2 TV series Jimmy Houston Outdoors and Jimmy's Outdoor World, Houston was banned this year from top fishing prizes because he refused to wear a Busch beer apparel patch and refused to add the beer...

Bryant Takes Important Shot "He kept shaking his head, licking his lips, and working his jaw muscles against the grain of the moment. Kobe Bryant did not have the ball. He had the world's attention, but not the ball, when he measured his racing heart, his burning lungs and his leaking eyes before taking the biggest shot of his life. "I'm innocent," Bryant said Friday night. He said it four times. Bryant adjusted the news conference mike, faced the cameras, and swore he was only guilty of being a man. A weak, flawed, adulterous man. He stitched Hester Prynne's scarlet...
  • Vanity: Information on becoming a Congressional Page

I am a young, conservative high-school sophomore who is very interested in politics. Both of my parents are registered democrats; in South NJ, you must be a democrat if you want to get something accomplished. I have recently found out about the Congressional Page program, and I am very interested in it. I understand that prospective candidates must have a Congressman or Senator sponsor them. My problem is finding sponsership; my Representative is a Democrat (Andrews), and so are both senators. Will my political affiliation kill my chances? If so, is there any other way for me to get sponsorship...

MSNBC is standing by Savage as some sponsors fleeBy Gail ShisterInquirer Columnist Despite national sponsors bailing, MSNBC says it's sticking with right-wing radio ranter Michael Savage. Procter & Gamble, Dell Computer Corp., Sharper Image, and three other national companies that sponsored Saturday's debut of Savage Nation have withdrawn from the show, MSNBC confirmed yesterday. The advertisers left because Savage's rhetoric doesn't meet their standards and commitment to diversity, according to statements from companies quoted on the Web site for the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). Still, the struggling cable network is "very comfortable" with Savage, "and we expect...
