Treason is the Vision
My fertile mind | 11/16/2003 | me

Posted on 11/16/2003 9:57:27 AM PST by Pharmer

Conservative pundits have panned to Democratic party’s Bush bashing and gutter slime politics as signs of a political movement on it’s last desparate gasp as they lack any “vision” for the future. On the contrary. There is plenty of vision in their rhetoric. Granted there are no new ideas in the vision but it is there just the same. Higher taxes, socialized medicine, UN sovereignty over US sovereignty, blah, blah, blah. This is the same elitist stuff they are spouting for years. This their way to “establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity”.

However, September 11th had a profound impact on the American psyche that has these people in a manic state. One only has to hear their outcries to the Patriot Act, the treatment of POW’s in Guantanimo Bay, and the audacity of Mr. Bush to strike back at our enemies on our own terms instead of those of Kofi Annan and Hans Blix to realize that their “vision” is the destruction of our American culture, our economy, and in the end, our nation.

Don’t think people aren’t listening because the polls say otherwise. But trust me, they are. I hear it in the lunch room at work. Both Al Franken’s and Michael Moore’s books are being passed around within my family. I counted 20 Dean and 4 Kusinich bumper stickers in the parking lot at work. Two years ago two of the most staunch liberals I know where thanking providence for giving us George W. Bush. Now both want him impeached for a “needless war”. They want our troops out Iraq NOW. Even though they acknowledge the job is far from over, and that the world is a better place without Sadam. I asked them if they had forgotten about 9/11. One replied had I forgot about Florida?! The basic partisan lines are being drawn again even though we are at war.

The Dems are about to loose the argument on the economy as recovery is on the way. They see the loss in California is being seen as an anti-incumbent movement instead of a rebuke of their incompetence. They are lying to themselves and to us. They are lying to the American public about the need to take out regimes that sponsor terrorism. While we have soldiers in the field, they are undercutting their mission and moral by highlighting the deaths of their comrades and ignoring their triumphs. They are trying to make the case that we were more secure before 9/11 than we are now because we had more “friends”.

All for one reason, the defeat of Bush in 2004 is more important that the defeat of terrorism. Bush and Ashcoft are worse then Osama Bin Laden and Sadam Hussien. Republicans are worse then Ba’athist or the Taliban. A couple weeks ago Michael Moore was on the Today Show saying that 9/11 was just a “bad thing that happen’s to people and Bush manipulated the media to justify a war”. The memo leaked from the Senate Intelligence committee says it all. To them politics justifies all, including treason.

Yes, I understand the first amendment allows this. But we can fight back and at the risk of being McCarthy-ite, call them what they are… traitors, plain and simple. And that goes for the media outlets that give these walking sacks of excrement a forum. We are at war. Our soldiers are in harms way. They say we can’t question their patriotism. So the Dems think it is patriotic to second guess the commander in chief by playing politics as to the justification for war? And never such a just war?!!! Benedict Arnold should be so patriotic!

But treason is their natural state. Has been since Vietman. They see America as a corrupt place and most Americans as materialistic, racist and greedy. Our culture is base and simplistic; our love of God as being judgmental and intolerant. To them, the American experiment as a land of opportunity and freedom is a failure. They care more about the opinions of the French and Germans than they do about US. Its time we stopped playing nice by calling them misguided fools.

To say that this is self-destruction in a post 9/11 era is clearly an underestimation. They are completely aware of what they are saying. They could succeed. We need to take this stuff seriously because in the words of Joseph Goebbels “If you tell a lie long enough it becomes truth” It’s time fight back. We cannot sit back and give them enough rope to hang themselves when we have the power to hang them with their own words now.

The Dems have a vision for America. And like Ann Coulter, I call it treason.

I've been working on this essay for a while.

But an arguement with a colleague whose scientific intelect I greatly respect made me finish it.

He espoused a loathing for Bush that was beyond reason. His words echo the Dems line but with a shrillness I have never heard. He said that "America deserved what happened on Sept 11th as devine reprisal for "selecting" George W. Bush.

I know that many in this forum feel the same. I am just saying it

"America deserved what happened on Sept 11th as devine reprisal for "selecting" George W. Bush.

The terrorist were working on the 9/11 attack for 5 years before it happened. That's means it was an attack for voting for Clinton, not Bush.
The 1993 WTC attack, the Cole bombimg, the embassy, (and very possably TWA 800 and the OKC) were all against the Clinton administration as well.
Bush wasn't the president when all these attacks were planned. Clinton was.

Good essay!

The number of misinformed and ill-informed "citizens" amazes me… until I remember who's in control of the media and public education.

Sometime in the last week or two Zell Miller said he has been a Democrat all his life and has no desire to change at this late date. There are millions that feel the same way he does but don't share his capacity to realize that something is dreadfully wrong with the Democratic Party.

The hatred of Bush is astounding when you see that "policy wise" he is as liberal as the most liberal of them. It may even be that 30 years ago Bush would have to be considered a Democrat along the lines of Hubert Humphrey - long on liberal causes while despising totalitarianism.

The Party isn't going away. Even Democrats who were thankful two years ago that we had adults in the White House were, after all, Democrats. Many Americans have an attention span of about twelve minutes. The average Democrat likely can focus about half that time.

The next election will likely be a cliff hanger. If Bush wins by a landslide, it will likely be by a margin of about 4 to 6 percent. That may be the most frightful part of all considering liberals are assaulting American institutions on all levels.

Are these people traitors? I think they are, or dupes. When you have large segments of the population that see day after day the propaganda that comes from our puplic education systems yet seem to want more of the same, I don't know what to think. I think that for too many years conservatives went about living private lives and wanting to be left alone. I also think it vital that we now spoil for fights as it's time to make liberals feel real discomfort when they espouse their poisonous views.

Calling your compatriot a traitor was a good thing.

"Sadam. I asked them if they had forgotten about 9/11. One replied had I forgot about Florida?!" Yes, the liberal minded can never forget that their doofus Gore failed in his attempt to cheat his way into the White House, so they are poised to throw their tantrums, their fits. See them there, thrown down upon the floor like the spoiled, selfish, ignorant brats they are?... In the end, their ignorance to the real world of Islamisim and the terrorists' goal to destroy this nation makes the liberal brats more dangerous than al Qaeda. Like a typical spoiled, selfish brat, they give no thought to their burning the house down as they try ANYTHING to get their way. well, the adults are still in charge and the brats will be either ignored or severely chastised.

I've been referring tot he democrat party leadership as 'the axis of acorns', the bitter little nuts fallen from the clinton deadtree, unfit for consumprtion. I may have to come up with something else, something to convey the more accurate depiction of spoiled, selfish, tantrum-throwing brats, squirming on the floor seeking attention, demanding their way.

I don't think they're really uninformed. Their venomous hate clouds their thought processess. They simply refuse to acknowledge Bush has turned out to be one of the greatest presidents in history when it comes to national security.

Conservative activism was an oxymoron, until we finally said "enough".

Today on FOX news, Former Ambassador Marc Ginsberg talked about his recent trip to Iraq. In conversations with the military, this was the message he got-The only way to stop the attacks, is to get help from the Iraqi people. Many Iraqis will not cooperate,as long as "the politicians" here, do not support the mission. Ginsberg said it is imperative that " the politicians" here, get behind the military in Iraq. This is the second FOX analyst who has talked about " the politicians " who are endangering our troops.Last week,Bob Newman, author of "Guerillas in the Mist",said that what " the politicians" were doing, was aiding and abetting the enemy. I think it is high time,we stop calling them "politicians" and start calling them Democrats and the media.

And the worst part is: The more Americans they can get killed through their speeches, the better it is for them personally. They must pray nightly to their God (what ever that is) for more American deaths. If they can support the dismemberment of the unborn child while still alive, what's a few more dead adults to them? As long as death buys votes, they're cheering it on.

I disagree. They are Socialist/Marxist AMERICAN HATERS who BLAME the United States for everything bad in the world. I believe they think clearly and hate what they SEE and use anything withing their grasp to condemn GW, the GOP and America. I believe this to be true with every fiber of my being. Their aim is to SOCIALIZE the United States, destroy the Constitution and subjucate it to the United Nations.

The Democrats must be held accountable for their actions.A lot of the conservative talk show hosts are afraid to pull the pin and call them traitors, but, when their actions are getting our guys killed-the gloves must come off. I hope that every Democrat, from the local level on up,will be asked by their constituents, why they no longer support the WOT and what justification they have, for endangering our troops on the ground. Ping me if you ever hear a Democrat (other than Zell) forcefully and passionately condemn an attack on our soldiers by the terrorists and swear to stand by the President, for as long as it takes.

There was a thread running on the DU website asking: "If America were attacked, would you side with the U.S. or the enemy?"
They answered:
"Yes, if it were the UN."
"You mean fight against the Americans we hate?"

Very good essay. Thanks for the ping. What do you suppose it would take to get our politicians to start calling them what they are?
