Now, a brief explanation of current events in Iraq. The present situation is known as Level 1 Low-Intensity Conflict (LIC). The idea of Level 1 LIC is to conduct urban terrorism. Sheer casualty numbers are less important than constancy. The intended goal of the enemy (leftover Ba'athists) is to get the government (that would be us) to lash out in a massive overreaction (such as your cosmically stupid idea). That overreaction alienates the population at large (ordinary Iraqis) against the government, and gets them to begin treating the government as an enemy.

Believe it or not, the solution to Level 1 LIC is to, first of all, NOT do things that would alienate the Iraqi populace at large, continue efforts to round up known leaders, identify unknown leaders, and gradually reduce the insurgency to being ineffectual...such as what we're actually doing right now.

While your 'battle plan' was obviously drafted in the heat of frustration and was excessive, the general idea is a sound one. Give the Iraqi resistence more heat, much more heat. We have a military machine in Iraq that could crush most nations on earth, and they aren't allowed to use this force.

Some people have tried to attack you by labeling your idea "Nazi". I would remind these 'historians' of the bombing of Dresden after the war was all but over, and that frying Hiroshima and Nagasaki saved untold American lives, as well as Japanese lives. Also, there was an initial civilian resistence to the occupation of Germany, but it didn't last long because it was met with a crushing response.

This strategy you have may be a little extreme for a modern civilized society but nonetheless, something needs to be done...If the pentagon and the central gov were pleased with the current results, they would have continued with the strategy they had...But obviously, things are changing...I see today, that we are now blowing up empty houses...

But one thing you have correct for sure...If the enemy doesn't fear us, we can't win...If the general population hides and protects the terrorists during the day, and they kill us at night, something MORE than blowing up empty houses needs to be done...And maybe it is being done...
