But wait, the rats say we are stuck in a Vietnam era mindset.

Instead of opposing armies, we face terrorists who move information at the speed of an e-mail, money at the speed of a wire transfer, and people at the speed of a commercial jetliner.

It appears to me that much of the problem here is that the CIA as an organization has no gonads, and is not sufficiently equipped mentally or physically to handle wetwork. Onesy-twosy loose terrorists should not be a DoD problem.

The philosophy can only be changed when the RATS understand that without national security there can be no RAT in office. RATS only hold office when the country is secure. No citizen in their right mind would ever vote a RAT into office while we are at war.

Any country that court martials an officer for firing a weapon near an enemy captive to get him to talk, has no more gonads than the CIA it pays for.

Another aspect of the same governmental / societal problem, no doubt.

"We have met the enemy, and he is us."
I used to think it would take another 9/11
for us to get serious about defeating terrorism.
I now find that to be hopelessly optimistic.

I've been saying another 9/11 with an order of magnitude more casualties.

I really hope I'm wrong. I don't think I am.
