Michael Jackson Launches New Web Site

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Michael Jackson, addressing his fans directly via a new Web site, says the child molestation allegations made against him are "predicated on a big lie" and he will be exonerated in court.

The entertainer's spokesman, Stuart Backerman, had said last week that Jackson was putting the site together so he could communicate with the news media and fans. Jackson said in his statement that it would serve as a source for "official communications on my case."

"As you know, the charges recently directed at me are terribly serious," Jackson said in the six-paragraph statement. "They are, however, predicated on a big lie. This will be shown in court, and we will be able to put this horrible time behind us."

Jackson surrendered to Santa Barbara County authorities on Thursday after an arrest warrant was issued alleging he committed lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14.

He was released on $3 million bail. Authorities have said they expect to file formal charges sometime after Thanksgiving.

Jackson said his attorneys have advised him to say little about the matter until it is resolved.

"No doubt, this will be frustrating for all of us," he added.

He also urged people to be skeptical of those representing themselves as his friends or claiming to speak for him.

"With few exceptions most of them are simply filling a desperate void in our culture that equates visibility with insight," he said. "We will not engage in speculation. We will not provide running commentary on every new development or allegation du jour. We intend to try our case in the courtroom, not in the public or the media."

Meanwhile, actress Elizabeth Taylor broke her silence about the accusations, defending her close friend and blasting the media.

"I believe Michael is innocent and that he will be vindicated," Taylor said Sunday in a statement released through her publicist.

Taylor had previously refused to speak to the media about the charges against Jackson, who hosted Taylor's 1991 wedding to construction worker Larry Fortensky at Neverland.

Larry Fortensky. Now that`s a guy they should make a movie about. Construction worker goes to the Twilight Zone and back.

I was worried about Elizabeth Taylor. I'm so glad she can stand up for her friend. She certainly is a woman of great principle and strong integrity. I was relieved, as she surely does have great insight, into the intimacy of Jackos psycho. I wonder if she considers him like a daughter?

Jackson better get busy figuring out how he's going to convince the jury- not his fans.

Dear Mr. Jackson:

If you are indeed innocent, and I hope you are, there are other things you need to "put behind". Number one: sell the ranch. It makes you look like a child molester.

Number two: Get a haircut. Long hair may be making a come back, but not for men your age. It makes you look like a man who wants to be a woman.

Number three: Stop wearing make-up. No man I know wears make-up. You always look like you just got up off the prep table at Campbell's Funeral Home. Stop it! It's scary!

Number four: Give all your money, every last dime and asset, to the Girl and Boys Scouts of America. Give "your" children back to their mothers.

Number five: Get rid of all your spooky "friends". Having Liz Taylor and Liza Minelli as your closest friends makes the wrong statement. Grow a beer gut.

Number six: Move back to Gary, Ind. and rent a small house.
Get a job in a warehouse. Horse around with the guys on the loading dock for a while. Spit on the ground and scratch yourself. Be a man.

Michael Jackson will face these charges in court in front of a jury.

One thing the world can be certain of today, MJ is one of the world's great control freaks.

The endless procession of obviously bought-and-paid-for public relations consultants parading through the news network studios is odious in the extreme. All these news organizations are trading credibility for ratings, IMO, and it's a disgusting spectacle to see them giving paid liars an "objective" stage.

"With few exceptions most of them are simply filling a desperate void in our culture that equates visibility with insight," he said....

Michael's right about that, of course.

You know, I think the other Jackson siblings secretly delight when Michael Jackson gets in trouble. It's the only time anybody in the world will interview Tito or Jermaine or LaToya. The more trouble Michael gets into, the more face time they get on TV!

As for Michael, if you think you are getting too much publicity, fire your publicist!

We are the world, we are the children- sung by none other than the Official Posterboy for decadent American Pop Culture.

I personally believe Jackson needs to be crucified and in a positive sense.

These charges are very serious. But I do not agree with trying him in the media. I know people are interested in his guilt or innocence , anything to do harming children is so emotionaly taxing.

I don't think people shouldn't talk about the case or what it means to our society, but having the meida cover his every move, statement and previous mis-deeds is not right.

He hasn't even made into court yet.

I have my opinions , but I am going to ignore this story and the talking heads, until there is some real data on this story. If he is guilty I hope he found guilty, if he is not guilty I hope his name is cleared up once and for all.

We do need to know for sure one way or the other, but I don't think we can make those judgements based upon the info we have been given thus far.

I know someone is going to chime in about the love lettters, well I have written "love" letters to children myself. I have posted poems to a child right here on this forum. Until I see the letters, I, for one, am going to reserve judgement on that .

Hey man, I agree with you. As "sick" as I think MJ is, I am not so sure he is a child molester. I am taking a wait and see attitude. Having said that, I would hope and suspect that the DA has "the goods" on the guy, and thats why they are charging him. I hope it is very convincing evidence. Nothing subject to much interpretation. Like you said, Love letters? I want to see them myself.
