"Ruby having terminal cancer."

He contracted it in prison and died before his 2nd trial. So did not have cancer when he shot LHO.

It won't ever be "solved," to everyone's satisfaction. When the rest of the classified information is released (in another 10 years, I think I recall), it will only fuel more conntroversy, I'm sure.

Government agencies and commissions are notoriously inept, and it would be surprising if the Warren Commission got everything right. But they still might have gotten most of it right.

It's even less credible that they engaged in a massive coverup that has basically withstood intense criticism for 40 years.

Too many people would know the truth about a subject too important to keep quiet. Nobody credible has spoken out. The most that has happened is that many people have raised legitimate questions, and ridiculous ones, also.

He contracted it in prison

Contracted it, or was diagnosed as having it?

I had a coworker who refused to see the doctor for his cough until he collapsed. He had extremely advanced lung cancer and died within weeks of the diagnosis.

I don't know if I buy this, but it raises some interesting questions.

Oswald couldn't have been too much of a flake if he managed to shoot Kennedy by himself, as the official theory claims.

If he was just a patsy, manipulated with the help of Marina, then his flakiness wouldn't much matter. All he had to do was get caught.

Also, the head shot and neck shot were about 5.5 seconds apart. Unless these were shots #1 and #3, there is no requirement that Oswald get off "three shots in less tham 6 seconds."

Of course, the Zapruder film is silent, so judging when shots were fired is kind of hard.

If I wanted people to think I was a flake

There is a blond joke hiding here somewhere.

It was solved in 1963. Oswald did it. See Poobah's post below for a start. There is ZERO evidence that anyone else was involved, just doubts (Oswald wasn't a good enough shot) bogus science (single bullet won't work), rumor (somebody said this or that but they were killed and couldn't testify), or accusations of evidence tampering (body was altered).

Marina Nikolayevna Prusakova

"Better to struggle in convulsions,/To be in delirium at death's door at night,/Than to take yesterday's murderer/As a family doctor."

"Sometimes he hears about his father,/That he was kind, brave, and stubborn,/But he does not write his father's surname"

"When times come to strike the enemy,/Fight them off from all frontiers,/Left side, right side, look sharp!"

"Schicklgruber, Adolf (H.)"

(translated excerpts  from the poetry notebook of Marina Oswald)

Thanks for posting this.

"He passed on a perfect shot, choosing instead to allow the motorcade to turn left and proceed below his window, and then took a much more difficult shot with his view partially obscured by a tree."

Maybe he had the shot lined up but hesitated at seeing JFKs face. It was to his advantage that the shots were taken from behind, as all attention / momentum would be rolling away from the scene. With the sun coming in the window it would also be an advantage to hide in the shadows with an eye toward the other sixth floor windows. A straight shot at the motorcade head on would have made for greater exposure; possibly the need to stick the barrel out the window.

She's been around... she didn't do anything media-wise this anniversary (as far as I know), but ten years ago she was doing interviews. I believe she was on Nightline with Ted Koppell, acting more than a little ditzy, changing her long-held belief that her husband acted alone.

I also recall seeing Oswald's daughter on TV, defending her family name.

>>...Oswald had a beautiful, unobstructed shot from the Texas Schoolbook Depository building in Dallas as the presidential motorcade approached. He passed on a perfect shot, choosing instead to allow the motorcade to turn left and proceed below his window,...<<

You know, I've been an asassination buff since the book "Six Seconds in Dallas" came out but I've never thought of what the above points out.

I found an aerial shot of the area and sure enough, Oswald (or whoever) DOES have a better angle after the motorcade turns off of Main onto Houston.

The motorcade would remain slow because of the next turn onto Elm which is a 90+ degree angle.

Interesting. I wonder why he waited.

Here's the photo:

Witnesses reported seeing the barrel of a rifle being pulled back into the opening after the shots.

Interesting. I wonder why he waited.

Because he had no idea when the motorcade would really come around the corner into view.

Once it came around, he had to identify the actual car, and the actual target. It would have been entirely natural to wait until the jitters settled down, the car came close enough to identify, and then begin the serious business of lining up the shot.

Marina lives in a small community east of Dallas. Last I heard, she's still married and is an active volunteer in the REPUBLICAN WOMEN'S GROUP. One of my relatives has worked with her on various conservative issues and says she's shy, but a very nice lady. For all I know, she could be a FReeper!
