"Just as it proved incapable of fending off the recall effort, the Democratic Party is proving itself incapable of mounting any opposition to the policies of the Schwarzenegger administration. "

ROTFL!!

Isn't it just delicious to watch them having a hissy fit?

The Democratic Party has already indicated its readiness to collaborate in the new administration’s austerity policies.

"Collaborate" ----ROFLMAO! These writers are wing-nuts but they're funny.

When they are nearly communists, a left of center conservative might seem like another Reagan I guess.

... eliminate art-based therapy for the developmentally disabled...

Somehow this one reeks even more of boondoggle than any of the rest.

Can anyone explain just exactly what "art-based therapy" is?

They admit the state is broke, but oppose any tax or spending cuts of any kind.

They are enraged that Schwarzenegger is cutting social programs (art therapy for the poor - a critical human right!), but are just as enraged that he's not doing it immediately.

Is there any chance that they see the irony in their own positions?

In addition to laying out an initial $3.8 billion worth of cuts in social services, Schwarzenegger is calling for the implementation of a budgetary spending cap and a massive borrowing scheme that will ultimately lead to the gutting of public services of all kinds.

I wonder whether any of this could possibly have anything to do with the fact that the State of California has absolutely no money available to pay for these "public services of all kinds..."

"Can anyone explain just exactly what "art-based therapy" is?"
I will try a lame attempt, which could possibly be made clear, except for the fact that I have been gainfully employed for many years by a series of consecutive employers with "drug free workplace" policies.
The fascinating concept of alternate realities, when weighed against the merits of pure metaphysical spiritual existance versus holistic physical/spiritual reality, and how they might best be implemented in the strictly physical realms is best explored when using powerfull, natural herbs as aids to understanding the true meaning of life, the universe and everthing.
The answer is 42.Or maybe 49.I often forget the final answer I eventually came up with too answer the mystery of the fundamental question regarding the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.
I vaguely remember swearing off the intentional imbibing of massive amounts of Tequila during the same general time frame.
I did warn you it was to be a lame attempt, did I not?
Have I answered all your questions?
If you want more clarity,I require more Scotch and water, for furthor efforts on my part to expand your understanding.
I am sure you will understand that direct monetary contributions are required to advance your knowledge search beyond this point.
(ROTFLMAO)

Hey I don't see a dime of cuts in spending for services for illegals. If California didn't have to provide them with free medical care, schooling, housing, welfare, food stamps, prisons, etc., they could save BILLIONS and maybe relieve the tax burden on legitimate California citizens.

Arnold must be doing something right to upset the leftists so. That's why they did everything to try to keep him getting electing, including praising McClintock, to try to keep conservatives from voting for Arnold.

I remember reading articles, written prior to the CA recall election, calling Arnold "right wing" at every turn. Then during the election, the same liberal press was praising McClintock to the skies, now that Arnold is governor, they went back to calling him right wing again.

They were terrified of him and for good reason. :)

The rats are running scared.

Schwarzenegger worries lawmakers (DEMOCRAT lawmakers!)

Gee, Arnold has been governors a full 8 business days and he hasn't solved ALL California's problems. How outrageous and ineffective of him. (/sarcasm)

''Art Therapy''?

Sure, that's where the taxpayers wildly overpay otherwise unemployable liberal arts ''graduates'' to ''supervise'' assorted feebs and other mental defectives while they ''express themselves'' by fingerpainting and so forth.

Naturally, such programmes also require the services of a politically-motivated psychobabbler, or three.

An excellent value for the citizens, without doubt.

The spending cap proposed by Schwarzenegger last week would force lawmakers to cut state expenditures by 20 percent in 2004 alone.

Yep... Arnold must be doing something right to upset the leftists LOL

I also remember the media constantly referring to Arnold's "liberal" views... now that the recall is over, he's back to being a radical right-winger ;-)
