SPAM (an address to rid yourself of it)

This morning E.D. Hill, on Fox & Friends, displayed an eMail address for ridding yourself of eMail.

You are supposed to be able to FORWARD all "spam" to this address (with headers) and they are going to shut them down. This is part of the Anti-Spam bill passed yeaterday and to be signed by President Bush this week.

I have started forwarding this morning and it seems to go through so far.

I'd be careful before doing this-- wait until you see something more concrete reported.

However, if that is 'legit', then you would probably need to do more than just forward your spam to them. Most of the time, if you forward a mail from most email programs, it does not include the full internet headers of the original mail. You will want to ensure those are sent as well.

But I think it is unlikely that they want you to bombard this one address with all your spam.

Funny, I never get those.

It's legit. I have been doing this for years. It is more for statistical purposes, to find the very worst offenders. On occasion one gets whacked, but it's not really an antispam address in the sense that people hope it is.

Many of the anti-spam organizations such as Spam Cop and CAUCE have suggested sending spam to uce@ftc.gov for years. I have been doing it for at least the last 2 years, but I am not sure it is doing any good.

From China to Europe. What's funny is that some in Asia reply, asking what is xanax or how do they get an American high school diploma, with the entire company involved in the reply.
