Plus Columbus could write about his travels, the Vikings only told stories.

Quit it! You're making fun of my mistake in the title, lol.

Okay!!!!!! I'll stop!!! :)

Seems with the stuff going on within our country, a little more humor is needed.

"There is an recent article on unknowncountry.com about the Chupacabras living in caves in Chile even at the present time."

I'm interested, can/will you link it over here?

I had an engineer from Colombia working for me once and she told me about the people living in the high mountains there. She said they called them the "White Cloud People" and they were white, blue eyed and blonde haired.

Maybe, but there have been similar rumours in North America and they were disproved. It was similar to the tales of the Welsh prince who came to America and this was used by Europeans to justify their taking of the land.

I'm not sure the Madoc visit has been disproved.

That was Prince Madoc who supposedly came here in 1170AD. There is a placque at Ft Gaines at the mouth of Mobile Bay commerating that visit.

These folks Here argue that he came in the sixth century AD.

Present-day Romans are not the same as ancient Romans, just as present-day Greeks are really just Hellenized Slavs, no longer the same as their ancient ancestors. Romans were taken over, dominated, and interbred with by Vandals and Visigoths and others from the East. Are modern Turks the same as Byzantines? The present Turks in Anatolia are from the area of Turkmenistan.

Anyway, here's a list of the pigmentation of the early Roman emporers. Augustus, Nero, Domition, and Commodus among others were all grey/blue-eyed and blond.

Just a bttt and overdue reply. I think I read an article by Robert Marx in an early 1970s in Argosy magazine regarding this (and a few other things).

The thing about the blond "Roman" tribe doesn't make sense. If a bunch of Mediterranean types arrived in South America 2000 years ago, they would have been assimilated into the native population or died by about 1900 years ago.

The Ainu and the Jomon are the same people. Jomon is an earlier culture/type of pottery. The Ainu were not Samurai, so to speak, but they did lose a long series of wars against the Japanese. They were driven up to Hokkaido.

Bears repeating:
Dr. Elizabeth Lyding Will, an expert on Roman amphoras (clay vessels used to store and ship goods during the Roman era)... says, "The highly publicized amphoras Robert Marx found in the ship are in fact similar in shape to jars produced in kilns at Kouass, on the west coast of Morocco. The Rio jars look to be late versions of those jars, perhaps datable to the third century A.D. I have a large piece of one of the Rio jars, but no labs I have consulted have any clay similar in composition. So the edges of the earth for Rome, beyond India and Scotland and eastern Europe, remain shrouded in mystery. Information about this find is practically non existent. Gary Fretz's synopsis of the 'whole story' suggests that the find has been suppressed by the Brazilian government."

Furthermore, why would Romans in 19 B.C. be blonde and blue-eyed????

Lots of Germanic tribes had come into the Empire by then

not in 19 B.C. At that time, the Romans stuck to the Mare Nostrum -- the Mediterranean.
The Roman military, maybe, but Roman-era trade exceeded the military range throughout imperial times. (not a reply to Cronos, because of the lapse of a couple of years or whatever)
