Hehehe Well, Matt Lauer wasn't as horrible. And he did deliver a smallish joke.
"According to people at the scene, when Saddam Hussein surrendered, he had this to say:"
My name is Saddam Hussein, and I am the president of Iraq. I am willing to negotiate.
The reply from US Forces:
Regards from President Bush!

Maybe we Freepers should send Katie a black mourning gown to wear on the mourning after Election Day when she has to report the landslide re-election of Bush. BTW, I maintain that anyone can tell how the election results went merely by turning the sound down completely and just watching the expression on Katie's face. Here is the key:
Extreme Happiness = Dean wins the election.
Sadness = Bush wins the election.
Extreme Gloom = Bush wins election by landslide.
Extreme Anger = Bush wins election by 537 votes again in Florida.

The reply from US Forces: Regards from President Bush! LOL. A witticism right up there with Will Smith's "Welcome to Earth!" in Independence Day.

Once we get Al-Duri, Katie will be claiming the Five of Hearts is the real mastermind, and asking why we don't have him in custody. And then we find out that the Deuce of Clubs is hiding out in his new guise as foreign policy advisor for the DNC.

Man, it also looks like she hasn't slept for a few days, and has mortician's spackle on her to make her look a little more lifelike.
And what is up with that jacket. Does the woman have no taste in clothes. (Women's rant and all...)

"Liberals" (misnomer, of course) are fighting against the tide of history. As truth--and its consequent destiny--unfold, their mendacity and manipulation will become more and more obvious. As pathetic as they are, they are more deserving of scorn than pity.

It wasn't a joke... the Maj. General did QUOTE the soldiers as saying that to Saddam.
Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction, and in this case, sweeter than fiction!

So glad you posted this thread, I posted this earlier on a diff thread, I was fuming and typing as I watched her try to downplay the capture, and scare all the bluehaired little old ladies who listen to ms colic and her doom n gloom reporting on anything positive for the country/George Bush.
To: All
tune into the Today Show and katie colic - she's in full blown "mourning" today - black dress, black earings even...and a very terse, unhappy face/voice to report the "good news"
she's doing her best to downplay this - she just said (watching live interview now) - Katie: "militarily how much has the efforts to get saddam been downgraded because he obviously lacked power"
then katie barks:"so this is more symbolic general, ya think?"
another rapid fire Colic question:
"General Sanchez do you think this will incite more terrorism, a more violant environment?"
lol she is such a biased b*tch!!!
she'd punch him if he was in the studio with her
Once again, Katie:"I know sadaam's #2 man is the mastermind of all the attacks, how critical is it to get him?"
(when we get him, katie won't be happy)
hahaha..general sanchez handled her well, and closed the interview with "thank you again for all of your support" great irony!

To Couric, it was indeed a dark day...
...a day when one of her comrades (in spirit) was captured!

Oh heaven forbid that the Perky one share good news with the morning viewers. That wouldn't be allowed in her contract.

the response from Saddam when asked if he had WMD: "No of course not, the US dreamed them up to have a reason to go to war with us.
Sounds like there's eight RAT campaigns that could use Saddam on their campaign staffs.

Foxnews anchor (not Gibson, Hume or any of the other majors) whose name I can't find was set straight yesterday while interviewing the spokesman for Chalabi. The anchor said:
"Don't you think ....... the resistance will ....... the resistance."
The Iraqi began his comments by point out to the clueless FOXNEWS ANCHOR that it isn't a resistance. It is Terrorism. Good gosh even the Fox people aid and abet with their stupid choice of words. It's ingrained in the mindset of a journalism major. Either that or it was a deliberate setup.
