I am a Conservative. Hear Me Roar!

Posted on 12/17/2003 9:21:49 PM PST by ConservativeMan55

I consider myself part of the base of the Republican party. I think everyone should own a gun. I think abortion should be outlawed, but I understand that at this point in time it will be difficult to accomplish. I think taxes should be cut, terrorists should be killed, and laws should be enforced. Government is a neccessary evil that we must deal with. It isn't my savior, and I shouldn't have to pay for it to be anyone else's either.

Cut as much government spending as possible and force each person to be responsible for themselves. Once people realize its either do or die they will start to participate in this free country. By free I don't mean free ride. You don't have to participate, but if you choose not to contribute to the economy, be prepared to be poor. I love this country, and it doesn't need to be changed. If you don't like it, then leave it.

If you have a kid you better be prepared to take care of it. It shouldn't be the rest of society's problem. It doesn't take a village. It takes a parent who gives a damn. Once you are older you should be prepared to not only raise your kids, but take care of your parents when they get older. The government should focus on delivering the mail, securing the borders, and staying out of my life. Everyone should not only be armed because of criminals, but this also prevents too much government intervention. Thats a big part of why we have the Second Amendment in the first place.

I'm tired of not being 'pandered' to. My vote should not be considered automatic by my elected officials. Even though I am part of this base I should still demand government action in my best interests. Why is it ok for Howard Dean to make up the outrageous mental institution conspiracy theories in order to rally his base, but we can't even run an ad without being called "over the edge."

If you are an elected official and you do something stupid, be prepared to be called on it. Don't try to camoflauge common sense with patriotism. I am not fooled. Campaign Finance Reform was the worst thing that we could have let happen. In effect our leaders are telling us to shut up. Government in itself is a problem. Its spinning out of control right now. Society will fall when elected officials such as Gray Davis, try to be everything to everyone.

When he ran out of people to pander to in California, he granted drivers licenses to illegal aliens so that they could vote. California failed because the so called leaders attempted to stay in power by bribing special interest groups. You see this same problem on a smaller scale all around the country in each state. The more liberalism that is inserted, the more misery and failure you see.

Schools don't need any more money. We are spending more money now on public schools than we have ever spent before, and we are educating our kids less than we ever have before.

As much as I seem to want, its mostly what I don't want that I have listed. I am very optimistic about the future of this country. I see an oppurtunity right now to crush the liberals. I see an oppurtunity to vote each and every one of them out of office. Almost every American lives their life as a Conservative. If more people were informed, then more Conservatives would be voted into office. I approach each day with a smile because I know that the only difference between a happy person and an angry person is that the angry person is angry. Everybody has problems. Its how we deal with those problems that shapes our life.

I detest vote drives. Instead, we should have information awareness drives. You shouldn't vote merely for the symbolism of voting. You should vote because you've got an issue in mind.

It won't be easy. Foreign countries are now getting in on the action, supporting Howard Dean with campaign cash. Combine that with voter fraud and his ability to lie and you have an evil entity that must be taken care of.

When you see evil you must confront it. You must defeat it. You can't get along with evil. You must erase as much of it as possible.

I didn't get to see it. How interesting since I spent the evening discussing South Africa with my boyfriend who is from there. Of course they seem like sisters separated at birth. They're cut from the same cloth. I can't stand Diane Sawyer. I love Oprah even when she acts like a liberal dweeb.

I haven't sent it to them? Should I?

Yes, you send this in as a letter to the editor, as an opinion.

If only we could figure out how to farm whales. It would save them, or as they say if you want to save a species "eat it for food".

I might just send it to them. It might be a little long, but they might print it as an editorial.

Fishing for whales and farming whales! LOL! Talk about sending the left into a tizzy!

They would be more upset about that, than they would about my future plans to invent a gasoline powered rifle which includes legislation that everyone carry one.

Yes, it was well stated and clear.

I would argue that elections alone will not solve the problem. I remember the real McGovern. I remember that Nixon won in 1972 with just over 60 percent of the popular vote and won the electoral vote 520 to 17. Yet, within two years the left drove him from office. Do not believe that Nixon brought it all on himself. Yes, covering up to protect his people was a mistake, but it was SOP for politicians. Both parties bugged each other, both parties did dirty tricks (Dick Tuck was the Dems' master and the media loved him), and both parties covered up.

Nixon was hated by the left beginning from the time he was an anti-Communist congressman in the late 1940s. It appears to me that President Bush is hated at least as much. Once "Watergate" got started there was little else the media talked about. There was some honest reporting even without talk radio and the Internet but you had to look for it. Most people watched TV network "news." I remember asking my younger co-workers what did Nixon do? None could really answer beyond, he lied.

There may not be a "Watergate" today but today's news contains a story about just who, by name, was responsible for "letting" 9/11 happen -- you know what all the forces of the left will do with that story in an election year. Next year may be when we learn just what it takes to stop the left from motivating our enemies by destroying ANOTHER wartime administration. Never again!

The religious groups had a good idea when they started taking over school boards. Too bad that died out.

all politics are local.

"They are ANGRY they are dying. It is part of the morning process in any death. (I forget the steps of mourning)"

Anger is the first step, or one of the first.

But I don't think they are dying, I think they are imploding, so they may not get a chance to do all the steps.

Oh, and btw, the woman that came up with that whole "steps of grief" concept, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, she got VERY wacky. I don't mean to discredit her concept, but she got seriously new-agey wacko, before it was fashionable. I mean she had spirit-guides and everything. Quite strange.

...as far as spelling and grammar?

Just a couple of things:

camoflauge = camouflage
its = it's
ok = OK
"over the edge." = "over the edge?"
'pandered' = "pandered"

There may be others. I hope it helps.

Battle Cry!

It is time to win this country BACK!

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed in their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is 'needed' before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents' interests, I shall reply that I was informed their main interest is liberty and that in that cause I am doing the very best I can. - by Barry Goldwater, "The Conscience of a Conservative"

I think your "rant" was good, and you echo many of my thoughts. Lord knows we all need to rant once in awhile. I have been blessed with two sisters, who are my best friends as well, and we call each other constantly just to rant, or as we call it, vent.
We were burning up the phone lines during the Sawyer/President Bush interview.
Just a couple of things I'd like to add:

Watch out for Clark. He's rising a bit in the polls, and he might strike a chord with Dems who want to feel they are patriotic. I know this makes no sense to most of us, but remember, there are some that could be blinded by his sueudo military background.
Even if you don't agree with President Bush on every issue, vote for him anyway. We can't afford a replay of the "Perot" fiasco.
Remember, there are strength in numbers. I have been a part of the silent majority for way too long. When I discovered this website, I immediately knew I had found a home. Let's be thankful that we have a place to express our conservative thoughts. I know I am.
