Hi Nancy--

How are you doing? Did you remember to pick up your mom? :-)

Have you talked to Mike? I had an idea--are you "into" scrapbooking, or are you interested? I was thinking it would be neat to make a scrapbook of all of his "adventures" in the service. I'm BIG into scrapbooking, so if you have any questions . . . just ask! It would certainly keep you busy while he's gone (not that you're not busy . . . I think you know what I mean! :-) )

How are you holding up? Special prayers from me to God for you this week!

Peace and blessings-
Shelly

***And doesn't this picture show "the weight of the world" on him?

Heavy are the shoulders of a President who bears the burdens this President does.***

Yes, it sure does. His worries must be especially great as the terror threat was raised 24 hrs. before there was even the Homeland Securtiy meeting to discuss it!

***Have you heard that our Dubya and Laura are in bed by 9 PM as usual, so no watching the ball drop in Times Square at Midnight or any other kind of revelry. ***

I think they probably have their own revelry--it's just private! :-)

People are sheeple! If you said you didn't like it .. why would the clerk at the store not agree with your statement; she wouldn't want to chase customers away. I never tell people I don't like something when I really do .. it's not a good plan.

Instead .. we should be willing to stand up for Jesus and SAY how wonderful it is that such a toy should be in the store. If THEY are offended .. tough!!

Along with the other prayer requested tonight, could you send a prayer of comfort for my Aunt? She fell on her treadmill and dislocated BOTH shoulders. She'll be in the hospital or a rehab facility over Christmas, so won't be able to visit my parents. No other family nearby so she'll be alone. I'm sure she's probably in quite a bit of pain, too! Just prayers for healing, and that she's not too lonely.

THANKS FRIENDS!

THANKS for the pictures! President Bush looks much more solemn than usual, even in the pictures in which he's smiling.

Prayers for him, soldiers and their families, and the protection of the United States and its citizens worldwide.

Oh! Don't you just hate those department stores hiring all of those women to stand in the aisles trying to spray you with some ghastly smelling far too expensive perfume? Makes me crazy! I always hold up my hands with my fingers forming a cross like I am trying to stop a vampire from attacking and tell them "NO!" LOL

I'm sorry if I gave the wrong impression. She was agreeing with me that some people would be offended but she wasn't. It has been a long day! As Jan would say, tough, if you are offended at something that means so much to lots of Americans. I find it offensive that some people do not make a stand and keep up Christmas decorations. I find them all very pretty and meaningful. There is 1 house about a mile from ours whose owners go all out for lights, etc. It is a showplace every year but the neighbors put up with all the traffic. It even had a lighted train one year. Think a neighbor up the street from them has it now. Most of the street has gone to decorating. I think that one family starts putting up lights, etc back in October or early November. Very beautiful.

Thanks for the links, and also for your post that has the suggested purchases for Christmas.

Now how can I leave them in a conspicuous place where it won't look like I'm purposely left them out?

Please remember in your prayers all the service men and women who will not be spending Christmas with their families, and the families who will miss them. I prayer for God's comfort and peace for all. And a huge THANKS to them for working to keep our country safe, preserve our freedom, and prevent harm!
