WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. Rush Limbaugh was blackmailed by a former maid who later told law enforcement and a tabloid newspaper about his addiction to prescription painkillers, his attorney told a judge on Monday.
Attorney Roy Black said Limbaugh could not complain to authorities about the maid's demand for $4 million because they would use the information against him.

Is that "excessive drinking", or perhaps an indulgence in some other mind-altering substance, do you suppose?
Anyway, isn't it about time someone dropped a dime to el Moderatoristas?
Just a thought, Amigo...

And there's a word in Spanish I don't understand
But I heard it in a film one time spoken by the leading man
He said it with devotion, he sounded so sincere
And the words he spoke in Spanish brought the female lead to tears
A word in Spanish, a word in Spanish

Rusty used to broadcast out of Reno, Nevada until last summer. He was a real hometown kinda guy, professing his love for the area, getting involved, etc. Then last summer he started carping about the Nevada legislature and how the state was going to hell with new taxes, regulations, etc. He started talking about things getting so bad in Nevada he might just have to move away. Next thing we know he's working in the "conservative paradise" known as Seattle. The first time I heard Rusty Humphrey I thought it was a joke-a parody of a sleazy talk show host with every possible stereotype included.
Then I realized he is just a really sleazy talk show host

Rush is no dummy....that's for sure, and you can bet your bottom dollar that he knows people have been wondering about Marta........so we would be the last to know if there were a problem.
Just a comment.......who knows if she really said anything.
But then on the other hand, Rush made Marta.........where is she going to go.
It is very easy to become comfortable with extreme luxury!
Just MHO......thats all.

It would appear that "iamfarouk" is a lurking troll POS from DU who goes by the name DemoTex if you are to believe his boast.
You can block all new accounts from the logged IP? I hope!

29. I checked it out and added a scathing anti-Ru$h post at Freeperville.
See if you can figure out who I am over there. Beware of coming here, from there, with so few posts. I, at least, in my alter-ego, have enough posts in the darkland to get away with guerrilla attacks on the lame-of-mind.
Otherwise, Porkrind, if you are for real here: Welcome. However, we will see. Time will tell.

Rush has been lying for the last two years, but everyone wants to think with their hearts and not their minds, a very "liberal" kind of thing to do...

uhoh! Look what you started...

Having read your Post #122 defense of Rush for avoiding military service, going on welfare, not voting for Reagan, refusing to ever sit for a real interview, using illegal drugs and possibly engaging in money laundering, I have to say it's too bad Jeffery Dahmer didn't have you as his defense attorney- surely you could have come up with some reasonable explanation for half eaten bodies in the freezer.
It is very ironic you use the screenname Yossarian, since he was the only character in Catch 22 who was able to see through the crazy BS everyone else believed in.
You are more like the character Aardvark

go to AM 770 station in Seattle - Rush has moved to this station

Could someone please cite one instance where someone addicted to prescription drugs that was not caught being in possession of drugs they didnt have a prescription for has been indicted?
Could someone please cite one instance where someone has been popped for Doctor shopping?
Liz Taylor, Jacko, Chevy Chase, Brent Farve, Wynnoa Ryder, and many other luminaries have been treated for addiction to painkillers. How about all those folks on Ophra a couple of weeks ago yet none of them were ever charged. Rehab, yes, but no case.
Nichol Bush tried to bust a phony script, and Cindy McCain filled other folks scripts under false pretenses. Thats why Nicole was arrested. Cindy McCain skated, because her Daddy owned the largest Budweiser dealership in the West, and of course the old straight talker himself is her husband.
Rush is a big boy, and he can take care of himself. They just might be messing with the wrong motorscooter on this one though, because he has a powerful following, and a huge megaphone. He also has megabucks to fight this. There is no doubt though that he is being railroaded, and that he has been blackmailed.
Good luck El Rushbo!

Yes, people in Florida are really getting busted for doctor-shopping. I have posted specific cases here in the past. Do your own research.

Oh, please...the "Everybody's doing it" argument.
I haven't heard that one since I had teenagers at home.

Why not just ask the doctors? Doctors are usually the first line of defense to know someone is doctor shopping.

Time for Rush to go the way of Newt and retire already.

The cases I remember had the doctors reporting the person shopping. The person was caught using a sting during survailance. IT WAS NOT as presently the case with Rush. The facts here of how the state is going about this case is just plain unusual. Why bring in an outside DC lawyer?
To: longtermmemmory
Your desire for identical fact-sets from one case to the next has nothing to do with the doctor-shopping law in Florida or its enforcement.
In truth, the statute is relatively new, and as with any criminal statute, its applicability is varied across a spectrum of diverse fact-sets.
But I'm not a lawyer, or a cop. Are you?

Yes I am. Fact specifics are crucial. It is what makes this a strictly political case. At most this case should have been dumped into the FL drug court system. (not to be confused with the general criminal court system) They did not do that because they don't have the evidence.
