Thanks for the ping. You raise some very good questions. I didn't even know about the civil suit.
What the hell is going on in Florida? Why is it so important to these people that Terri die?

Your post is excellent and brings up some important facts that have been overlooked.
We need to make the public of this thread. Especially, the first post and your post.

Bump and been wondering all day what is the current status of this case. I thought that there were allegations of abuse that were being considered because of the Florida State Dissability act.Seems like these allegations just dissolve into thin air.

May I suggest that you FAX Governor Bush our post on this thread about the other lawsuits that may be pending. If you need Jeb Bush's fax number, give me some time to find it for you. I could have it by tomorrow. It's in my Terri briefcase. A FAX would be better than an email; and please include the links. Put ATTN: JEB BUSH LEGAL COUNSEL in the subject line. Thanks, FV

I agree with you Libby. The BLATANT CORRUPTION of Florida's Judges is staggering. I mean there needs to be a MAJOR house cleaning. These people are CRIMINALS not FIT to occupy the positions that they have. Do the citizens of Florida really want Judges like this?

"Do the citizens of Florida really want Judges like this?" I'm convinced that a great many Floridians are ignorant yankees who've been so thoroughly steeped in the socialist agenda that they don't even recognize a problem any more.

You definitely put some good information together. Floriduh voter is right. It needs to go ASAP to Governor Bush and his attorney.
To: FR_addict
I have provided the info to the other freeper to contact Jeb's administration. They'll have something to do in Tallahassee after they return from New Years vacations.
I am ashamed to live in such a lovely county with such corrupt officials.

Thanks for the ping. I keep praying for her and her family... may justice be done soon. May God sustain them as this thing is dragging out unbelieveably long! I cannot fathom the depth of despair and frustration they must be going through on a daily basis.

April 6, 1999 - House Bill 2131 was introduced in the legislature by the Florida Elder Affairs & Long-Term Care Committee to amend Section 765 (Civil Rights) of the Florida Statutes. . . .:" I found this brief description of what that bill was expected to accomplish in 4/99 issue of "Elder Update", the FL Dept. of Elder Affairs newsletter: This is a portion of a column by Gema Hernandez, the DOEA secretary, about the 1999 legislative session:
pg 20 Bills on the fast track at press time
In the area of advance directives, HB 2131 and its companion bill CS/SB2228, would eliminate the current requirement that persons who have made advance directives or designated a health care surrogate be terminally ill before life-prolonging procedures could be removed.
Civil liability protection would be extended to health care facilities and staff who honor do-not-resuscitate orders (DNROs). The bills also would extend the life of the Panel Sudy End-of-Life Care through January of next year.
That was the synopsis given by a legislative columnist! Interesting this is in Civil Rights . . . apparently the civil right to an "honorable death", shades of Japan!

Very good research! I remember a letter written into one of the local newspapers, from someone who headed that dept. (I think it was Elder Affairs - will get back to you with that letter to compare names.)
She came across as being anti-Terri, and I was puzzled because I thought she would be pro-Terri, being *supposedly* concerned with the rights of the elderly to not be *terminated* before their time.
Another piece falls into place.

Link to Gema Hernandez letter "Jeb imposes personal belief
Schiavo action disrespects democracy, family"
"The decision to extend the dying process is incomprehensible because it goes against the Republican partys basic core values: less government interference, more personal responsibility and support of family values."
Dr. Gema G Hernandez is former secretary of the department of elder affairs.

"The decision to extend the dying process is incomprehensible because it goes against the Republican partys basic core values: less government interference, more personal responsibility and support of family values." Good find!
Translation: Starving and dehydrating someone to death should be part of the Republican's basic core family values.
This idiot, Gema Hernandez, can twist anything.

Until the sovereigns impeach and remove a few pernicious liberal leftist judges here and there, these societal engineering oligarchs will continue to ignore legislatively written law in favor of fiat rule from their smarmy benches.

Bookmarked. Locals do not get much news at all regarding Terri. Free Republic is helping front liners share info with each other and aiding us in getting news from other locales. The news blackout in Pinellas County is blatantly obvious. Terri deserves better from her community and she deserves freedom. She doesn't have to prove anything.

fv reports media bias:
"Locals do not get much news at all regarding Terri."
Interesting! AND what they do get is this article that piously claims to dispel myths regarding Terri while arguing for her death: Terri Schiavo: Look at the Person Attached to the Tube
Incredibly, that column did NOT run in the St. Petersburg online edition -- an alert person scanned it & passed it along to a freeper to post! There IS an agenda to keep Terri's true condition under wraps.
