Saddam Threatens to Expose US

JEDDAH, 27 December 2003 — Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, now being grilled by American investigators, has reportedly warned US authorities that he will expose Washington’s “political games” and its behind-the-scene role in the occupation of Kuwait.

“Saddam threatened that if they continue to pressure him he will reveal startling facts — about America’s political games with his country — that would shock the whole world,” Al-Watan Arabic daily quoted a high-level European source as saying.

The source said Saddam had stopped answering the investigators’ questions and asked them to “give him enough time to clear his mind.” He did not elaborate further, the source added.

The source confirmed that the investigators approached Saddam with a list of Iraqi scientists involved in the development of weapons of mass destruction but Saddam told them that they were developing nuclear and chemical technology for civilian purposes, the paper said.

According to the European source close to US investigators, Saddam also said that he would ask the International Court of Justice in The Hague to try the United States for its crimes against the Iraqi people for allegedly using internationally prohibited weapons against the Iraqis during the last two wars against his country.

“If the Americans want to try me in a court of law, they should also try high-ranking international officials,” the source quoted the former Iraqi dictator as saying. Saddam has insisted that his statements are recorded verbatim, the paper said. The source said Saddam neither prayed not read the Qur’an, it added.

Maybe if we put a rusty nail through his tongue he'll have second thoughts about trying to turn his trial into a circus.

Bring it on, Sadam--the world is waiting breathlessly to hear the rantings of a crazed mass murderer!

I doubt the unnamed source even knows where we're holding Saddam. I'm sure he knows not what Saddam is saying. Sheeesh.

He should have cleared his mind with the pistol he had down in that hole.

Perhaps he is confusing us with France?

Just a Euro echoing American lefty fantasies; or the journalist making it up. It's their way to "define" the positive news about capturing Saddam.

How nice that his chemical/biological/nuclear weapons programs were for civilian use! I see he just can't avoid inserting foot.

Arab News is behind the curve on this stuff. The good folks at Pacifica radio were making statements like this way before Saddam was landed. Depleted uranium, Haliburton, "we created Saddam," Bush's wealthy buddies in the oil bidness-you name it. Its only a matter of time before the American public realizes that Robert Fisk and Amy Goodman were right all along and America really does suck. I feel like turning myself in to the World Court right now and pleading for mercy.

If the truth comes out the USA will still be left standing and Saddam will be left slumping with only the ties on his ankles and wrists supporting his carcas on the wooden post he's tied to.

This report is so full of crap anyway.

You scared me. I misread your post as "Could the prostitute on the 4th floor be Paris Hilton", and I didn't know she was now charging!

If he really had anything damaging to reveal, would he still be alive?

I don't think so.
His a$$ would've gotten fragged if that were so.

"he will expose Washington’s “political games” and its behind-the-scene role in the occupation of Kuwait. "

Suuuuuure. How convenient. On the SAME DAY Saddam was captured, Terry Moran of ABC and the rest of the international socialist media began carefully spreading their next anti Bush move- That Saddam would get revenge and expose the corrupt Republican admins of the last decades. Reagan, Bush I (Rummy), and GW. They left out Clinton.

Now, they are claiming a leak, in what is the most secure detention in the history of the planet, that happens to prove their initial assertions that the capture of Saddam was not only a minor thing, but that it was actually BAD NEWS for the US!

Now, for the next phase of disinformation- watch, as the media now lists all of the connections that republicans have had with Saddam. We will be blamed thru implication, as being an ACCESSORY to Saddam's war crimes. The media will ask the question, "What if he says THESE THINGS: xxx."

The left has already started the defense of Saddam and the prosecution of Republicans...mere days after the capture of the most evil being since Hitler.

On Dec 24th, the NYT ran articles supporting the above moves. The articles condemned republicans as accessories to Saddam's crimes. Unbelievably, if you look at the editorial positions of the NYT AS WE WERE SUPPORTING IRAQ in order to stop Iran from gaining more power in the area (and possibly taking Kuwait and SA), the NYT unequivocably SUPPORTED Reagan and Saddam.

The media is trying to rewrite history by clouding the real history of our 80's policy. Be aware!
