The conservative idealist/true believer in me is disgusted with all of the President's domestic pandering. I realize there are political machinations at work here to secure a Republican majority of the federal government for a generation to come. My fear is that the Republican Party may not be able to make the ideaological 180 degree turn back to the right if the Democrats are marginalized.

That said, The realist in me just doesn't want to waste my vote in 2004 on any other candidate besides Bush. It's a dangerous world we now live in, and I just don't trust anyone else to lead us thru it. Now, more than at any other time since WWII, we need peace thru strength, and a leader unafraid of international perceptions to secure freedom for the generations to come. America must endure.

This is not heaven. We are not perfect. The world is not perfect.

Striving for political perfection thru idealism is a liberal trait. Conservatives by definition should be more pragmatic about the world we live in.

Although there are a few things I disagree with President Bush about, I'm sure there will always be disagreements among successful conservatives, as even we occasionally had with our beloved President Reagan.

Simple math for me. It's Bush or it's Dean or Hillary or Clark...and no way am I going to enable those criminals.

STAY SAFE & FREE...
VOTE BUSH IN 2004

With all due respect:

1. We won't know for absolute fact that it will be a landslide until after it happens;

2. If it turns out to be a landslide and you voted 3rd party, will you really be sending a message that anyone will ever get?

2004 will not be an ordinary election year. Our national security is at stake. GW is the ONLY man up to the task.

STAY SAFE & FREE...

Enforce the Bill of Rights, starting with the Second Amendment. Government does NOT keep you safe AND free. It's either/or... and safety at the hands of Government is wholly illusory, period. Ask the 100 or so millions of people who died at the hands of their own governments (entirely exclusive of war) in the last century. ALL of them disarmed by government edicts.

I try to look at the bigger picture of a person and not a single, or even a few, issues.

In the big picture Bush is who I like, and a lot.

"When the next building blows up, who do we blame?"

We blame those responsible for the explosion, of course. There is no way in the world to detect and prevent every single terrorist plot.

"democrats will appease islamists and sell us our sovereignty out to the EU and the UN. To me that's worse than anything Bush has done so far. "

BINGO.

You are smart to have figured out the obvious, unlike quite a few others, who insist on "cutting off their nose to spite their face", which of course would seriously hurt all the rest of us, including the country.

Anyone, whose actions (not voting for Bush) would result in a Dem getting into office, regardless of what good sounding excuse they are touting, has no right to call himself/herself a conservative.

You made the point well.

I agree. And, it has been men like you who have protected our freedoms for 200+ years. Thank you.

In this case, electing the POTUS, the issue is who do we want as commander in chief in times of war and terrorism.

My point is that we don't need to look beyond GWB among the choices, the choice being him or a RAT. No RAT gets his or her filthy traitorous hands on our military, ever again, not with my help at least.

I don't believe GWB threatens our freedoms as citizens. Do you?

Do we have to go through THIS again?

If you are not voting for Bush, you ARE voting for the Dem.
