Dean Cites Terror Alert As Vindication

NASHUA, N.H. -- Democratic presidential hopeful Howard Dean on Friday cited the higher terror alert and the number of U.S. troops killed in Iraq in arguing that he was right to say Saddam Hussein's capture didn't make America safer.

"They got all excited, but here we are," Dean told a town-hall meeting. "We've lost 10 more troops and F-16s are escorting foreign passenger jets into our air space because we're now more worried than we were before."

I didn't read the article but I am amazed at the folks in America that feel it isn't America if we have to deal with real threats.

I want a Lovely touchy feely world...but it ain't gonna happen! Funny in some ways the ragheads seem to recognize this more than we do.

What they don't get is that we are magnanimous in our application of judgment...realizing we
are human.

This is like saying putting Charles Manson away hasn't made anybody any safer because there continues to be crime and murder in the US.

It's still a stupid statement and only appeals to those who want to diminish Bush's accomplishments.

Dean was probably correct in the narrow sense that capturing Saddam didn't make us safer.

But in reality did ANYONE really say that?

It's al-Qaida. We've not paid attention to al-Qaida.

Shows you how the anti-finishing-the-war talking points gained traction. OPEC/Saudi/France/Demos, all the profiteers of the Axis of Containment, fomented a "we have to get rid of Osama first" rationale, among others, to stall the ending of our twelve year war with Saddam. Thing is, many believed it true, rather than propaganda. From review of lefty sites, they eschew any comparison of Dean or Clark's prior comments...I think they want their messiah and are willing to ignore anything contrary.

Look at Krugman's article posted too.

...and wounded and permanently maimed over 2,000 people because we picked the wrong target."

This illustrates just who dangerous he is.
In western culture, avoiding collateral damage is admirable goal, perhaps emphisized too much though battalion JAGs.

In middle-eastern culture, it is a perceived as a sign of weakness.

It didn't 10 minutes after we captured him but in a few months it will be incredibly important.

Dean is a typical democrat. While technically true, it is a complete lie (and he knows it).
