Most of the Mexicans in CR Ia are better Americans than a lot of the legal's who make a living sitting on a porch smoking crack.
I hear you brother. Many immigrants are great people from hard working solid family backrounds. They have a lot of positive things to offer this country. I still find it amazing how people who come here, many barely speaking the language, manage to carve out a good life for themselves and their families. While other traditional Americans can't manage to keep or find a job or manage other basic civic responsibilities for that matter.

GWB has lost my vote, sad to say.
I don't know what I am going to do,but this one, very important, issue has been handled poorly.
They want Hispanic votes but what about the votes of millions of us who want illegals treated as lawbreakers, which they are.

I will not vote for Bush or anybody else . Screw 'em . It's not as if we didn't know this was going to happen? A major part of Bush's election strategy was courting the hispanic vote. I don't recall Bush ever taking any kind of serious stand on illegal immigration. He is hardly breaking any promises that he made to conservatives here. He never did as far as I remember. No one should be surprised by this.
Bush was not my first choice for a GOP President but we made our choice back then and we got to live with it now. We all knew what we were getting when we voted for him the first time. No one should act shocked at what he has wrought thus far.

Yes, he signed an
amnesty bill.
It was one of his worst mistakes.
I've never heard ANYBODY ever mention the word RINO and Ronald Reagan in the same sentnece and understand the first concept of what a Republican is.
George Bush is about to make the same mistake R.R. made in 1986 - MULTIPLIED 1,000 TIMES.
(I have heard G.B. in the same sentence as the word RINO.)

>>>Further proof that Bush, much like Clinton, will stop at absolutely nothing in his drive to get re-elected. And the Bush apologists on FR will line up like lemmings to vote for him.<<<
There are Bush apologists, but there are also apologists for illegal aliens. The #1 claim by apologists for illegals is that they "do the jobs no American wants to do".
What Bush saying to illegals is basically "OK, I'll look at your side of it,in fact, most every President for the last 25 years has been listening to ya'll "talk the talk" and trying to satisfy your whining.. So, OK, show me the job you're doing and prove no american wants it.
I think Bush is probably very good at Poker.

We are a nation of laws, not men. Either there is a legal way to enter this country or there isn't. Apparently law is breaking down in this society.

You are simply insane and delusional. No one is talking about executing mexicans, We are talking about the intentional invasion of our country for its assets and blood sweat and tears of the American people. This will only encourage more illegals to come here.

I am just curious which state you live in? I live near the border in Tucson and I dont think you realize the impact of illegals on crime, welfare, taxes, infrastructure, and the sense of community that they have. This is a radical change to the landscape of our society. Do you really think that this will improve our country - this is an issue that will cost Bush votes. Hispanics who believe in the rule of law and love this country will not vote for him because of this. It is only the liberal and radical border rights people that will commend him - and again they will not vote for him as well. Bush Jr. like Bush Sr. is caught up in his elitist and 'everybody must love me' attitude that will cost him votes and perhaps the election. I believe that other conservatives like me will stay away or even vote democrat because of this and other policies that Bush has enacted.
Moreover the general public will not be kindly to Bush on this - I hope that he will not be elected in 04 - even if that means we get the devil democrat. At least we will know our enemy.

I admire your reasoning.
I know you have strong feelings over this issue, which you have stated well, but you're not throwing everything away over emotions. That's what the GOP needs to participate in shaping their agendas.
To: Chi-Town Lady
Exactly. They are just fine living on the fringes of society and going on the programs that taxpayers fund. Shame on you apologists for this. Let day laborers start hanging out in front of YOUR house and see how you like it.

***The "work that Americans won't do" nonsense ignores the existence of the free market.***
Amen to that. One can only imagine how wages would be affected if illegals weren't available to swallow up all these "tedious" jobs.

Mexicans perform jobs Americans are too proud to do, it seems. We hear this a lot-- Rush was spouting this crock yesterday.
Rush needs to provide evidence for this or stop saying it.

It used to be that one could only come in with a sponsor who assumed all responsibility for you. Now you immediately become a ward of the state, whether you're a legal or illegal alien. That is why they are coming in such large numbers.

"Of course the US will change with a larger influx of Mexican immigrants, but melting pot has always changed and remade itself when it absorbed large influxes of immigrants, in over 200 years that process has made us nothing but better. Absorbed? This could lead to civil. And if not then we are no longer worth much anyway. This is Balkinization of the highest order. This is not some small change to the USofA, this is it's utter destruction. If the changes in the USofA had been presented to your parents or grand parents as one big package, they would have leveled D.C. That we are not says the liberals have done their propoganda job well, even on those that suppose themselves conservative.

Once they are in office, they stick it to us. I keep saying that "I" won't vote again either, but then I think..........Gawd! What if the DemocRATS take over? Then it will REALLY be bad. Can't win for losing sushiman! :(
