What keeps the McNabb controversy rolling, (aside from the blatant ignorance of lefties with an agenda), is that there is error on both sides.
Rush was fundamentally correct, however, I think McNabb is far better than he gave him credit for being. Look at the quarterbacks in the league now. McNabb is surely in the top 10. He's not great, but I'd take him over Couch or Holcomb! (The Browns COULD have picked him, the idiots).
McNabb did have a sub par day yesterday, he's not as great as the author of this article wants him to be. In fact, he's not GREAT. He's very good. Not Hall of Fame caliber, who knows how he will end up. I watched the game, and aside from McNabb not being at his best, his offense killed him. The recievers are not very good, and he didn't have much time. But, GREAT players tend to elevate those around them, and find a way to get it done.
Summary, both sides are wrong. He's a very good quarterback who lost a big game. So what? So did Peyton Manning.

These people are despicable, and this is what makes people like me---who could care less about McNabbit except that he is in an Iggles uniform---hope that he has a terrible career.
BTW, I wonder if the author wants to call the Panther player who hit McNabbit a racist who "spews hatred?"

"Actually McNabb was lucky he lost. The Patriots would have broken every bone in his body."I concur...The Pat's would have seriously abused him. T'would have made for an ugly SBowl and embarrassed the NFC.

One thing for sure this crowd proves old Rush was correct. That crew of commentators last night after the game was shucking and jiving.
Old Howie said that the Eagles should go out and get Donavan some help.
Hell, every quarter back that has ever lost in one of these games could say the same but I have never heard an announcer say this or make excuses.
Regardless of what they say the truth eventually comes out and old Rush was correct all along about the media and McNabb.

McnNabb was forced to be a pocket passer and hilarity ensued. The Panther coaches even said ahead of time what they were going to do. Pretty funny watching Mr. Limited imagination get folded, spindled and mutilated.
Some day after he has long been sacked, Coach Reid may realize the obvious. Good defenses will cause a turnover before 20 dunk passes get you to the end zone. He keeps doing the same crap year after year. It'd be sad if it wasn't so funny.

You know, I bet some people (I had this argument) are going to claim this is going to be a boring Super Bowl. If the way these defenses play is any indication, we may very well be looking at a 13 to 10 game. A close game, with field position and punting being of primary importance. Far better than the "Super Blowouts" we have seen in the past.

I agree. Both teams seem to be at their peak.
Down here we call them the 'Cardiac Cats' for all the close games they've had.

Dan Marino is known as one of the five best quarterbacks ever, but despite his many records, he'll never go down as the best because he didn't win a Super Bowl when Joe Montana, John Elway and Brett Favre did.So, Mark Rypien and Trent Dilfer won Super Bowls, but I suspect we won't be seeing them in Canton anytime soon.

That's what they said before the Ravens-Giants Superbowl too, but how did that end up? 34-7.

What the 14-3 loss means is that McNabb, accomplished as he is as a quarterback and leader, Accomplished? He was rated 16th among starting QBs in the NFL this year. Brad Johnson was rated 12th. Would they call Johnson "accomplished"?
And when did Limbaugh "spew hatred"? I must have missed this.

In the end he wasn't too sure exactly what had happened to him.

''I thought I was on the ground already. Then I took a shot I shouldn't have taken,'' McNabb said. ''It was rough.''Late hits happen all the time, for pete's sake. For every one the camera captures, there are probably a dozen or so cheap shots at the bottom of a scrum that are much worse that you DON'T see. From the tone of the article, you'd think this has never happened before.
This poor excuse for a sportswriter seems to be taking it harder than McNabb himself. Or more likely, he's just stirring the pot.

Put it this way. As a Giants fan who is not particularly enthralled with Kerry Collins as our QB, if I heard that we put together a deal to get McNabb as our new QB, I'd be, well, pleased, I guess. Sort of.
But if I heard we put a deal together for Steve McNair....I'd be absolutely thrilled.
McNabb just isn't a great downfield passer, and he doesn't look so quick and light-footed anymore. I think he was a much better player 2-3 years ago. He seems to be getting a thicker build and less nimble... sort of following the model of Barry Bonds' body history.

Thanks CM55. Mariotti is an idiot. He is completely enamored with his own voice, he is incapable of an original thought and, did I say, he's an idiot?

At least DeShaun foster and Stephen Davis look like they give a damn. If the Eagles would have won, the SB would have been a yawner, now there might be something there to hold onto. Good defenses versus vulnerable offenses and two coaches who have proven they can take loser and put it together.
Belichick is a very smart guy. There was a great article in the New York Times about him that was excellent. He got over 1400 on the SAT and has a degree in Economics. It explains why Billy Cowher lost so often to him...Cower is a total lunkhead.
