"The Great Satan" was the killer.

Van der Waals.. now this is starting to get funky. I've spent lots of time with TGS and he's gold. Guess I better check out the Waals character.

On FreeRepublic, we have Van der Waals making cryptic posts that are intended to support (unfathomably) his view that the former Freeper, ever articulate, always interesting "The Great Satan" was the killer.

Can you point me to an example of this?

well, at one time Saddam may have produced anthrax ... but I'm with John H K (a first) ... I don't think, at this point, that I have seen enough evidence to link AQ with anthrax ...

however, 9/11 which WAS definitely their operation, is enough for me to give thumbs up to eradicating them ...

Actually, I found the "works" of the articulate TGS to be engaging, intriguing and totally out of your boring league - buddy.

Nice to see this comming back up.

The FBI needs to be chastised severely for their stupidity.

I don't think the Anthrax came from Saddam.

I think it came from some Russian connections. Probably one of the "Stans" that are just North and East of Afganistan.

They have had some large weapons dumps in various places in that area. Probably stolen and resold on the black market.

sounds like it took some level of sophistication to develop it ... given the reported nature of its composition ...

Prior to 9/11 I had a couple that I forgot or lost.

Since you're only here since 12/7, you can't have spent too much time with TGS.

BTW - in case you haven't noticed, you've been baited by a card sharp: a Master Baiter.

Well, you're not American. So what's your interest in anthrax, anyway?

You know one connecting dot was that Saddam has a thing for J-Lo. Found pictures, etc of her in his stuff. Who was it that wanted the J-Lo connection more widely discussed? TGS?

I always liked the Atta/J-Lo letter connection. Apparently, when Atta wrote letters to his butt buddy Bin-al-Shibh in Germany, he would address them to an imaginary "Jenny".

I don't what to think about the Amerithrax stuff. There's so much crap floating around on the internet about this topic. If you lean towards Hatfill being guilty you can find plenty of supporting circumstantial evidence. Same goes for AQ.

Definitely.

The anthrax was also not consistent. The Florida stuff was less weaponized than the Congress letter. And even those letter had some differences.

It is as if they obtained it in small amounts from different sources.

I was amazed at the FBI response and the domestic investigation.

It seemed like it made no sense at all, given the information that I had read. It was as if they were privy to some better info, but it seems that all they had was some womans accusations and heresay.

Who really knows how many countries have the Ames strain nowadays?

Heck, we sent it to anyone that asked for it.

Anyone and everyone interested in the subject.

WMD was not a issue then and nobody thought the Anthrax would ever qualify to be a wmd.

Some still don't, but the stuff that went to the Senate office was pretty scary.

Trouble is, anti-bacterial treatment is available and fairly cheap. Mass casualties with anthrax has really never been a possibility. It sure made a terror weapon though.
