No, in the US we say card sharks, not card sharps.

Handle's obviously Dutch, but I think you're posting from K-H in Brussels.

Van der Waals is actually also "anthrax-profiler". He has at least 20 different aliases here on Free Republic. He's actually a security guard at Merck in PA. He thinks a guy called Victor Goetz is the anthrax mailer. He thinks Victor Goetz IS the Great Satan. He's a sick puppy, is Van der Waals.

If you're right, boy was I fooled, I thought he was someone else entirely! I remember Anthrax-Profiler well, he also posted here for a while under the name "Princeton". I had no idea about him being a security guard at Merck. He also has a bunch of webs sites that are devoted to his rather bizarre theory, and I concur with you 100% about him being a rather sick puppy.

Facinating theory. I like it much better than the Brussels theory above. How did you come up with this last name, though?

Fascinating but not highly original, I'm afraid. As I give it more thought, smacks a wee bit too much of Richard Jewell, don't you think? OTOH, lightening has been known to strike the same place twice. Anything's still possible...hohummmm....

Are you Anthrax-Profiler/Princeton? Two different people have now told me that you are, and I consider both of them to be pretty credible.

Damn. I really thought you were Knowlton-Hill. 'Cause if you were, I was gonna quiz you on your methodologies.

Two DIFFERENT people? I see some folks in this thread who have a habit of talking to themselves.

Does anyone recall how soon after 9/11 the anthrax mailings started showing up?

Actually, contemporaneous news reports said AMI employees recalled that the first anthrax letter arrived about the 8th of September 2001. The man who was the first fatality (from AMI in South Florida) began feeling sick around the last week of September — or about two weeks after 9/11.

In addition, there is solid, if circumstantial evidence that connects Atta and his gang to AMI and possibly the anthrax. They rented an apartment from the real-estate-agent wife of the head of AMI. They took flight lessons in the same vicinity as AMI. Atta and one of the other hijackers sought medical help for symptoms that appeared to be chemical burns. One sought treatment for a black lesion on his leg. The doctor who treated him believed the lesion was caused by an anthrax infection.

There is no question that someone continued the mailings after Atta and his known gang died in 9/11 attacks. But it is not unreasonable, given the known evidence, that Atta's gang began the mailings in South Florida just days before the hijackings. It would mean that there is at least one unknown member of Atta's gang who finished the mailings and who, in all likelihood, is still alive; possibly even still in the U.S.

if all of that is true, when then all the focus on Hatfill? ... I thought one of the letters was mailed from Maryland or something ... somewhere in New England, not Florida ...

The significant letters were mailed from Princeton, New Jersey. Other so-called hoax letters were mailed from Florida and are likely connected to the "real thing".

Hatfill is no longer the focus of the investigation.

Tick Tock Tick Tock......

Googled up Goetz - not an overly common name. Came up
with an auctioneer (rhymes with weaponeer), a female photographer - nah,
and a fellow who appears to be a scientist.

Bobbt777, if my memory is correct, the first one (or two?) that went to AMI was mailed in South Florida. The rest are believed to have been mailed in the vicinity of Trenton, NJ.

I'm surprised by some of the statements here. Memories seem to be failing. All this kind of information is described in detail on my site www.anthraxinvestigation.com .

There was no anthrax letter mailed from Florida. All the anthrax letters were mailed from New Jersey - some probably from Princeton, although all got a Trenton postmark.

There were two mailings. The first - postmarked September 18, 2001, - apparently consisted of 5 letters addressed to the media: Peter Jennings at ABC, Dan Rather at CBS, Tom Brokaw at NBC, The New York Post and The National Enquirer in Lantana, FL. The second mailing - postmarked Oct. 9, 2001, - consisted of two letters addressed to Senators Tom Daschle and Patrick Leahy. The letters to the Post, Brokaw, Daschle and Leahy have been recovered. The letters to ABC, CBS and The National Enquirer were not recovered.

The J-Lo letter has nothing to do with the anthrax attacks. It arrived at the AMI building on September 19, 2001, and contained NO anthrax. It was opened and passed around on the 3rd floor, and the third floor was the least contaminated floor in the building. Moreover, one of the people who tested positive for exposure to anthrax was Stephanie Dailey who was on vacation at that time. She opened the real anthrax letter on September 25, 2001, at her desk. The entire area around her desk is the most thoroughly contaminated area in the AMI building. She was resposible for opening letters addressed to newspapers other than the Sun, and, since The National Enquirer offices in Lantana had been closed down a year earlier, the letter was forwarded to Boca Raton and she opened it when she returned from her vacation.

There are charts on my web site which show how the 3 floors at the AMI building were contaminated. Just click HERE.

There is a great deal of bad information out there because the first anthrax case diagnosed was Bob Stevens in Florida. In reality, however, SEVEN people got anthrax before Stevens. There's a chart of all the cases HERE.

Instead of just working from memory, you might consider checking www.anthraxinvestigation.com . The facts are all there.

Ed
