Prayers for A Freeper

This is the first time I've been on Freerepublic since before the Holidays and I am sure I've missed alot of great news and posts. I suffered from a severe headache and backache right before Christmas and went to a chiropractor on the 26th for an adjustment. I woke up on the 27th with extraordinary pain and total paralysis of my left arm and hand. I thought that I had had a stroke during the night. Spent the day at the emergency room where it was suspected that I had a possible herinated disc in my neck. After a series of x-rays, MRI, mylogram and Cat scan, I was told that because of my arthritis in my neck, I now have spurs which apparently punctured two nerves. Other than being medicated, which offers little relief, I have spent the last 28 days in severe pain. The doctor does not want to operate (and neither do I).

I was forced to return to work part-time because if I go on short-term disability, I will lose 50% of my income and because I am single, the only breadwinner, I could not take a chance of losing my home. I have been steadfast in prayer asking for relief from this pain and re-vitalizing the use of my arm. Your prayers would be deeply appreciated. Thank you.

I know it may sound trite, but the Good Lord does not close one door without opening another.

There's not much that many of us can do about your chronic pain (though I remain hopeful that there are fellow Freepers who have access to advanced medical solutions), but I am certain that many here can lend knowledge and experience in your vocational needs so that you can work in spite of your disability.

You have my prayers. I'm afraid you've learned a very painful and costly lesson about trying to substitute alternative therapies for regular medical care. I'm with lady lawyer -- sue the chiropractor; that was some "adjustment"!

My daughter had that operation recently. It was VERY painful after surgery, but now she's doing fine. Maybe you should find another doctor, one who feels he/she is competent enough to do the surgery.

Please enfold gypsy in your healing and comforting grace. Let those nerve cells heal rapidly. Heal the original cause and core behind that arthritis. Heal the stresses and biochemistries involved in stress reactions because of chronic pain. Heal all her body systems. Answer gypsy's prayers and those of her friends on her behalf. We call forth a miracle, and we are grateful for your divine Will in the life of your servant.

Let our prayers be adjusted according to only your divine Will and multiply them to be applied to any and all who are in a similar circumstance.

So sorry to hear about your condition. Always, always keep in my mind that none of us have our security in our health or anythng else. God alone is our security.
