Teddy K's hypocracy on the drug card. - (vanity/something you may not know)
Self

Last night when President Bush spoke of the prescription drug discount card - to loud applause - there was one face in the crowd that was none to pleased. Yes, as usual it was local f(r)at boy Teddy K.

I'm sure to some, his lack of enthusiasm for the plan could be construed as his deep-seeded love of the down trodden, and as a show of rationalism while the rest of the congress cheered wildly and mechanically for President Bush.

Ahh, democrats are so naive when it comes to their poster boys. You see, President Bush's discount card goes in direct competition with that of a Boston based company called citizen's health, which also offers a prescription discount card for seniors and which is run by a businessman with close ties to Teddy K: Former MA congressman, and son of Robert Kennedy, Joseph Kennedy.

Why would Teddy show any support for Bush's plan when part of his own clan stands to lose money on the venture.

To be honest I have nothing against Joseph Kennedy. My wife worked at the company for several years and he was always a nice (albeit slightly arrogant) guy who gave back to his employees (he’s a closet repub too, I’m convinced). In fact once we were invited to Mr. Kennedy's estate in Hyannis just across an inlet from the compound. Several family members were there including Ethel.

I always thought that his prescription card idea was a good one which did well considering the company only had about a dozen employees.

The thing that aggravates me the most is Teddy’s typical attitude, he sits there with is smarmy look of dismissal, when in fact he is motivated by nothing more than his family's financial success and the image of a politician he has had to keep up for the last 35 years. Sad, really.

The thing that bothers me about Kennedy and Hitlery is their lack of respect.

It's scary that Teddy has parlayed the legacy of his family into so many decades in the Senate, even after the drowning of a woman he was "dating," and his craven and cowardly actions in the aftermath. Not many names other than Kennedy could have survived that scandal. Since his brother, Joe, was killed in action, and his brothers John and Bobby were assassinated, we have no real way of knowing what the expected lifespan of Teddy Kennedy should be. The alcohol can't be doing him any good. It is rather ironic that the old man made most of his money as a bootlegger, and Ted appears to be hooked on the stuff.

I noticed him shaking his head back and forth as well. I thought he had a case of the DT's from missing his Happy Hour.

My opinion is that other than a full-blown socialized health care system in this country with all of the extra dues to the government unions and graft potential for political hacks, the Democrats do not want any solution to the various cost problems. They only want the issue to use, not a solution.

Teddy's sour puss was because he understood that the 'dumb guy" from Texas stole his pet issue right out from under his bulbous nose and took the Medicare/Prescription drug issue off the table for this election.

Too bad Teddy, you booze, you lose.

Joe Kennedy's the only Kennedy for whom I have any respect. Citizen's Energy is perhaps the best, and most noble, use of the Kennedy fortune yet, AND Joe's had the good sense to stay out of politics, for the most part.

I liked the squabble he had with Helicopter Jane Swift a few years back - and it was at a photo op! that was when he was dancing with the idea of a Gov. run.

Refresh my memory, if you don't mind. What did Joe say about Sky Pilot again?

Oh, and I have never been so angry as when I saw Kennedy & Clintoon with their arrogant smirks.

My, my, Teddy was raised in "America's Royal Family" but his manners scream 'trash'.

I forget exactly what was said - it was in early 01. they were at a photo op for something to do with a school lunch program and they both started bickering about the details of the plan. It was pretty funny and they were trying to be polite but it was very passive aggressive and you could tell she was pissed, the funniest thing is that they were surrounded by about 20 school kids who were completely flummoxed.
