Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry (apparently new web site)

On the campaign trail, White House wannabe Sen. John Forbes Kerry regularly mentions his Vietnam War combat experience, during which he received three purple hearts, the Silver Star and Bronze Star. However, the Massachusetts Democrat doesn't like to talk much about how he received the awards or the time after he returned home when he was rubbing shoulders with Hanoi Jane Fonda as a much-celebrated organizer for one of America's most radical pro-communist groups. Kerry served in Vietnam. He saw what that war did to American troops. Had Bush served, instead of going AWOL, American troops probably wouldn't be dying in Iraq right now. I find it interesting that all right wingers ignore the fact that Bush lied about WMDs as being the reason to go to war with Iraq! Clinton has an affair with an intern and all of you want to string him up from the highest pole, but Bush lies to the entire world community, attacks Iraq, sends thousands of American troops into battle, kills thousands of Iraqi civilians and nobody cares! Maybe of republics weren't so frigid, they'd get laid more often, thus releasing some of that sexual frustration that causes you to lie and kill for no reason!

A stupid and juvenile response from someone who apparently isn't embarassed to have his stupidity showing. Yawn. This doesn't even rate the kitties.

Hey Army Democrat, may I suggest a cool drink to iron out your frustrations? A strawberry smoothie? A gin and tonic?

Yes. Bitch about Kerry regarding what he did after he got back and what his stands are on issues. The military treated him as if he served the country honorably. That's good enough for me.

More "intelligent" commentary from the left.

Bye-bye.

I guess it is a waste of time to allow Dimorats to post (i.e. armydemocrat)on FR. Debate is impossible with them. We have enough trouble debating with those we agree with!!

I'd like him to talk about this subject. I'd be curious to hear his response.
Kerry, a highly decorated veteran who seemed to be a clone of former President John F. Kennedy, right down to the military service on a patrol boat made a 1970 bid for Congress in Massachusetts' Third District. Three-months later, when it became clear his opponent would get the Democratic Party nomination, Kerry dropped out.

Realizing that running for public office in Eastern Massachusetts as a decorated Vietnam veteran was not at that time politically correct, Kerry moved hard to the left...

God, I hate these rats...in the 70's he detested everything the military stood for, now he flaunts his service like we have all forgotten his past....he's a born-again vet.

Should his "anti-war" past be an issue? So long as he has not disavowed it (as even Hanoi Jane has to a degree), and points to his miltary record, I say is should be.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
December 6, 2002

John Kerry's war record As Sen. John Kerry, Massachusetts Democrat, considers a bid for the White House, Americans should know a few things about him that he might prefer go unmentioned - and I don't mean his $75 haircuts.

When Mr. Kerry pontificated at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Veterans Day, a group of veterans turned their backs on him and walked away. They remembered Mr. Kerry as the anti-war activist who testified before Congress during the war, accusing veterans of being war criminals. The dust jacket of Mr. Kerry's pro-Hanoi book, "The New Soldier," features a photograph of his ragged band of radicals mocking the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial, which depicts the flag-raising on Iwo Jima, with an upside-down American flag.

Retired Gen. George S. Patton III charged that Mr. Kerry's actions as an anti-war activist had "given aid and comfort to the enemy," as had the actions of Ramsey Clark and Jane Fonda. Also, Mr. Kerry lied when he threw what he claimed were his war medals over the White House fence; he later admitted they weren't his. Now they are displayed on his office wall. Long after he changed sides in congressional hearings, Mr. Kerry lobbied for renewed trade relations with Hanoi. At the same time, his cousin C. Stewart Forbes, chief executive for Colliers International, assisted in brokering a $905 million deal to develop a deep-sea port at Vung Tau, Vietnam - an odd coincidence.

As noted in the Inside Politics column of Nov. 14 (Nation), historian Douglas Brinkley is writing Mr. Kerry's biography. Hopefully, he'll include the senator's latest ignominious feat: preventing the Vietnam Human Rights Act (HR2833) from coming to a vote in the Senate, claiming human rights would deteriorate as a result. His actions sent a clear signal to Hanoi that Congress cares little about the human rights for which so many Americans fought and died.

The State Department ranked Vietnam among the 10 regimes worldwide least tolerant of religious freedom. Recently, 354 churches of the Montagnards, a Christian ethnic minority, were forcibly disbanded, and by mid-October, more than 50 Christian pastors and elders had been arrested in Dak Lak province alone. On Oct. 29, the secret police executed three Montagnards by lethal injection simply for protesting religious repression. The communists are conducting a pogrom against the Montagnards, forcing Christians to drink a mixture of goat's blood and alcohol and renounce Christianity. Thousands have been killed or imprisoned or have just "disappeared." The Montagnards lost one-half of their adult male population fighting for the United States, and without them, there might be thousands more American names on that somber black granite wall at the Vietnam memorial.

As Mr. Kerry contemplates a run for the presidency, people must remember that he has fought harder for Hanoi as an anti-war activist and a senator than he did against the Vietnamese communists while serving in the Navy in
Vietnam.

I was in the same exact AO at the same time Kerry was ...and was in a Army platoon that used navy PBRs and Swift boats (during the rainy season) to ferry us into ambush patrol sites....we would patrol and set up night APs for three to four days...and then get extracted by boat during the rainy season and helo during the dry...

If Kerry got a Silver Star for merely hopping off the boat after his gunner prepped the area and killed and/or ran off the only VC and retrieved a launcher and a spare rocket...then something was VERY WRONG with the way the navy awarded medals to junior officers....in that unit - imo

Enlisted soldiers that recieved such high awards in our unit ...were often severely wounded or KIA as a result...regardless- actions that resulted in such high awards WERE ALWAYS directly against INTENSE enemy fire...

A couple of guys in my unit recieved silver stars and one a medal of honor...I can assure you the things they did to get such awards were way way beyond...the call of normal combat duty...
which in itself is harrowing...(even if you are just doing your job)....
Medals in Vietnam were given to those who deserved it- to those who didnt- and many guys who deserved medals didnt get them...
imo

It is always disgusting to hear him brag about his service when he betrayed his country with the likes of the communists Hanoi Jane and Ramsey Clark.

Why does American even consider electing these subversives for President knowing they will command the armed services? Clinton was outed as a draft dodger before the election, and protested this country in the USSR while supposedly a student at Oxford.

Yes, it should be an issue, especially when he constantly reminds us of being an VN vet...what irks me the most is that most people have selective memories or just don't know...I was recently telling a friend about Kerry throwing *his* medals over the WH fence, she looked at me as if I was crazy and accused me of making this up.

Are you really as ignorant as your rant suggests?

Where was your protest when Clinton unilaterally (with no UN Resolutions whatsoever) declared war on Serbia, with no coalition, when nobody can argue that Serbia was any threat whatsoever to the U.S. and no U.S. vital interests were at stake, and he bombed serbia - did not even use ground troops - and killed many, many civilians? I don't recall a peep from the left on that. But, it was convientent to take the heat off of Clinton's perjury. So, in other words, the left thinks it's o.k. to kill people to cover up lying under oath, but not to protect America. Interesting. Very ignorant, but interesting. And, I get laid plenty. Maybe, if you used your brain for something other than socialist propaganda you could understand things more clearly.
