HERE IS THE KERRY JOKE ABOUT SHOOTING QUAYLE
SLATE DOT MSN DOT COM ^ | 1-25-04 | dfu

Posted on 01/25/2004 7:53:41 PM PST by doug from upland

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, a man who wants to be president really did tell a joke about the potential shooting of a sitting vice president. Drudge talked about it on his show tonight. This is just amazing. The Republicans are the ones who are mean spirited????

Excerpt from slate.msn.com ---

Quote: "Somebody told me the other day that the Secret Service has orders that if George Bush is shot, they're to shoot Quayle. … There isn't any press here, is there?" (Associated Press, Nov. 16, 1988).

Charge: Kerry delivered this joke at a business breakfast shortly after the election of President George H.W. Bush and Vice President Dan Quayle. The co-chairman of the Bush-Quayle campaign in Massachusetts called it "an extraordinarily reckless comment" that was "very clearly in bad taste."

"no press here" DFU I just posted how many times I have heard Kerry supporters bring up that Kerry is always their for them and no MEDIA shows up....even Dennis Leary stopped and announced during that quaint ice hockey game that Kerry was in that Kerry helps others and no media show up .....meaning he is not a photo op guy?

He is playing the I am the helpful Sen. role and don't run and advertise to the media? Well for an avg. Jo to pick up on this I would suggest he stop using this I am a no MEDIA warm helpful guy and for his supporters to quit echoing the same thing. It is beyond repetitious and I have only been tuned to CSPAN for a week now following the Dem runners campaign trail.

As I asked on the other thread is there a CSPAN Dem. Campaign thread up and thriving yet?

"Senator John F. Kerry said yesterday that President Bush committed a ''breach of trust'' in the eyes of many United Nations members by going to war with Iraq, creating a diplomatic chasm that will not be bridged as long as Bush remains in office."

Clark, Dean and the entire, rabid left have been calling for regime change in the US since last April. Kerry's just jumping on the bandwagon a little late as usual.

Also I watched Mrs. Kerry at a round table discussion with Nurses back east and they really seemed to rally around Kerry.

Being aware of the understaffing and many mistakes that are made I support Nurses in the fact that their ratio should be 4 to 1 (patient) on the floor to keep mortality rates low.

It depends on the Hosp/facility as I have been with my son in good and bad staff moral. Always have had to be on top of his orders for the first 24hrs though to get his meds. right.

My point being looking from the outside is that the Nurses union seems to dig Kerry.

"Clark, Dean and the entire, rabid left have been calling for regime change in the US since last April. Kerry's just jumping on the bandwagon a little late as usual."

Actually Kerry was the first to say this--these remarks were made April 2nd.

They were also made soon after Bush had said that we were fighting the war for regime change in Iraq--by which he meant Saddam's death.

Also, we were still involved in a shooting war when he said it. (Not that it would have been right at any time, given the context of Bush's remarks.)

There have been a few, haven't there? Is school on holiday or something? Parents left the kiddies alone with the computer?

My Viking Kitty is still sound asleep in front of the fireplace. I guess he figured this one wasn't worth the effort to wake up.

I remember Dan Quayle was bouncing off the walls a little when Poppy Bush introduced him as his VP nominee (a particularly neat trick considering that, if I remember correctly, the announcement was outdoors). But Dan had an excuse. He was a young, up-and-coming but still surprise choice to join what turned out to be a winning presidential ticket. He wasn't the guy who'd just come in third in the Iowa caucuses. And I'm pretty sure that at no point in his acceptance speech did he go, "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHH!!!"

President Bush will be at Baptist Health, in Little Rock, Arkansas, tomorrow to talk to the doctors, nurses and volunteers. I will miss him by one day.

He has great support from the medical community.

At Baptist Health, we believe healthcare is more than just a business. It is part of our Christian ministry based on the revelation of God through creation, the Bible and Jesus Christ. Care of the whole person - body, mind and spirit is an expression of Christian faith. We are instruments of God's restorative power and are responsible for giving compassionate care.

MISSION
Baptist Health exists to provide quality patient-centered services, promote and protect the voluntary not-for-profit healthcare system, provide quality health education and respond to the changing needs of the citizens of Arkansas with Christian compassion and personal concern consistent with our charitable purpose.

VALUES
In fulfilling our mission, we place special emphasis on the values of:

service - honesty - respect - stewardship - performance

VISION
Shared Christian values of service, honesty, respect, stewardship, and performance, combined with a commitment to customer satisfaction through continuous improvement, allows Baptist Health to unite Physicians, Nurses, Employees, Technology and Access into the most comprehensive healthcare provider, delivering total health services to the citizens of Arkansas. Serving the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of patients from the inception of life to support at life's end means compassionately providing total health from prevention to long-term care.

President Bush has been to Arkansas more than Bill Clinton (he only came for campaign cash).

He was the first? I really can't remember. You may be the only one giving him credit for it if he is. We know he's a traitor, but won't get lucky enough for him to get into trouble for inciting violence against the president.

I imagine a sniggering bunch of emotionally and intellectually challenged twerps at the DU cooked up this brilliant plan. Since they seem to be trickling in, they must be taking turns.

You can tell it to your pal by the water cooler. A United States senator does not tell it in public to a business group.

They were probably all sitting around, bored, probably smoking some weed, trying to decide between tormenting FReepers, TPing someone's house, or putting soap bubbles in the municipal fountain. We won!
