Citing what he called tax cuts for the rich and inconsistencies in handling international affairs, former President Bill Clinton, during a visit to Broward County on Sunday, lobbed not-so-subtle criticisms at the Bush White House. [snip]
Careful not to name President Bush directly, Clinton drew on a theme he said defined his two terms -- multilateral cooperation with other countries.

Oh sure, multilateral cooperation with other countries is always what thing people think of when they remember clinton's terms in the WH. Right after BJs, and chasing women.

A million dead Rwandans will be forever grateful for Bill Clinton's multilateral restraint. Not to mention three thousand dead Americans.

On this point, Clinton defended France, often criticized by American politicians for its refusal to support an invasion of Iraq. ``At the time we were railing against the French, their soldiers were in Afghanistan [fighting with coalition forces], which is where Al Qaeda is, after all.''
Were the French railing against us? Did Chirac/Total Oil have investments to protect in Afghanistan?
Combined with Kerry's UN/France arguments, more and more it looks like the Demos are actually going to make supplication to French foreign policy interests a campaign talking point. Amazing.

OK Maddie, it's time for you to enter stage right, and do your little flower petal dance for all the North Koreans, in the name of "Multilateral Cooperation"

This man is such a hillbilly white trash. No other former president has ever spoken ill about a sitting president. Why won't some reporter ask him about this. And I'll bet any amount of money when W is gone you'll never hear from him again. It sorta' makes me want to see a dim president so I can sit back and watch Billy overshadow him.

Don't forget another "hillbilly" Jimmy Carter. They make nice bookends! He talks bad about "W" most of the time!

No other former president has ever spoken ill about a sitting presidentHe isn't limiting himself to speaking ill of Pres. Bush. According to published reports, he will be participating on Feb. 4 in one of the leftist celebrity get-togethers to plot "Bush ouster" strategies, story here.

"Therefore, the American people have wisely established a custom against allowing any man to hold that office for more than two consecutive terms. But every shred of power which a President exercises while in office vanishes absolutely when he has once left office. An ex-President stands precisely in the position of any other private citizen, and has not one particle more power to secure a nomination or election than if he had never held office at all, indeed, he probably has less because of the very fact that he has held the office."
