BELGRADE -- Tuesday – Police in Serbia have questioned 65 people in connection with a mass grave on the outskirts of Belgrade, B92 learns from the office of the war crimes prosecutor.

The individuals have been interrogated as part of a preliminary criminal investigation, while 44 of 88 potential witnesses have also been interviewed.

According to information seen by B92, so far the remains of 707 ethnic Albanian victims have been exhumed from the mass grave on a police training ground in Batajnica.

The remains of 186 corpses have been identified, and 120 returned to relatives in Kosovo.

The Batajnica mass grave is one of several cases being investigated by Serbia’s war crimes prosecutor, who was appointed in July last year.

I wish I could find something close to a definitive total.

Regardless, I'm still glad we took that commie douchebag out of action.

“The final toll of civilians confirmed massacred by Yugoslav forces in Kosovo is likely to be under 3,000”

They didn’t publish evidence so we can’t say how many of them, most likely many - were civilians – and that means loyal Albanians and Serbs killed by KLA terrorists. Of others some probably were victims of NATO bombs, maybe some Serb soldiers and policeman killed in fighting with KLA. But we can’t know because:

“No Nato government has sought to produce a definitive total of murdered ethnic Albanian civilians since the Serb offensives began in March 1998, a year before the bombing. "No one is interested," complained a senior international official in Kosovo involved in helping victims' families. "Nato doesn't want to admit the damage wasn't as extensive as it said. Local Albanian politicians have the same motive. If you don't have the true figure, you can exploit the issue."

The best fishing is in muddy water.

And I don’t think Milosevic was commie; at least not die-hard type - I think he was socialist. Sad part that after him friends of Al-Qaeda are in control in Kosovo.

But, but, but, they lied..... well, that's what we should be hearing from the left(if they were at all consistent), but never will.

Seven hundred is not the thousands that Milosovic was supposed to have murdered.

Eva, these are only the Kosovar Albanians found so far in mass graves inside Serbia proper. It does not include those found in Kosovo, which is what makes this particular episode so threatening to the war criminals and their apologists. You cannot argue that Kosovar Albanians found in a mass grave at a special police facility well inside Serbia near Belgrade were killed by NATO bombs or by the KLA. Especially when the crime is discovered by Serb authorities, reported in the Serb media, and investigated by Serb police.

They don't even disclose names and autopsy reports. Nor do they have and photos or footage - from domestic or international media. I suspect many are bodies accepted by the western-installed puppet government in 2001 and brought up from Kosovo then. The bodies were any that they could find who died from 1998-1999, including the "revenge" timeframe after the war.

Without giving the identities they can manipulate KLA into civilians. Three they identified were KLA who went into Serbia after NATO's airwar. How do we know these aren't Albanians who fought in southern Serbia in 2000 and 2001?

The Office of Missing Persons and Forensics (OMPF) for Kosovo put out a press release about a year ago on recovered bodies and numbers still missing. Excerpts from the OMPF report are below:

· Since 1999, 4019 bodies of victims of the [Kosovo] conflict have been recovered and approximately 2212 have been identified.

· According to the latest version of the Consolidated List of Missing Persons, 4233 persons are still reported as missing, of which 164 are considered dead (but the body has not yet been recovered). · According to the list, 3324 victims would be Albanian and 909 non-Albanians.

Here’s my personal guesstimation at figuring how many of the bodies above are Albanian versus non-Albanian: The percentage of the 3324 missing Albanians to the total of 4233 is 78.5%. If we use the same multiplier for the 4019 bodies, 3156 would be Albanian and 863 non-Albanian.

Total dead or missing would then be 6480 ethnic Albanian and 1772 non-Albanian.

Applying the same ratio for the bodies as for the missing is admittedly subjective. I also don’t know if the above numbers yet categorize the Kosovar-Albanian remains being exhumed from the mass graves in Serbia-proper as missing or as recovered bodies and I don’t know what the stats are that would have to be added in from 2003; but I think these numbers are reasonable.

"According to the list, 3324 victims would be Albanian and 909 non-Albanians."

The Serb relatives claimed about 1,700 Serbs were missing, and that doesn't even include Roma.

Plus, the KLA did kidnap and kill other Albanians. A few of these KLA murderers were jailed last year, and witnesses in their trials were threatened.

Well, Slobo still doesn't come close the murderous Saddam Hussein, nor to the numbers of predicted victims of ethnic cleansing.

How many Serbs were killed by the KSL, since the 1980s? That figure should be considered here as well. It doesn't justify what Slobo did but it offer some counter balance.

Julie Mertus looked at just that issue in her Kosovo: How Myths and Truths Started a War - from 1981 through 1987 the crime rate in Kosovo was the lowest of any of Yugoslavia's Republics.

During this time, 5 interethnic murders, with a breakdown of 2 Serbs and 3 Kosovar Albanian victims.

It wasn't a place where people were walking around arm in arm singing "It's a small world", but it sure as hell wasn't what people are making it out to be as they try to justify what happened there under Milosevic.

And I don’t think Milosevic was commie; at least not die-hard type

Right, he was just a corrupt, murdering, ethnic-cleansing radical nationalist war criminal who broke up his own country in a process that cost hundreds of thousands of lives, ruined Serbia's economy and its reputation and sold arms to Iraq & Libya.

Oh, I almost forgot--he and Mrs. Slobo are also on the list that came out today of those taking Saddam's oil bribes; the Yugo Left Party run by the lovely Mirjana was one of the biggest winners on the entire list with 9.5 million barrels of oil and the Socialist Party headed by none other than Slobo--defender of Christian Europe from those "jihadist" Albanians, Croats, Bosniaks, and Slovenes--received one-million barrels.

Moroz, you're right. Your buddy Slobo isn't a "die-hard" commie; no money in it.

Now would be a good time to mention the mass graves in Iraq that make this one look like a sandbox.

Weak- they have done even DNA sampling in Cambodia to match the victims to the family survirors. They won't in Kosovo. They will let it fester like you want.

Well, I guess it all depends on where you live. For a Kosovar Albanian, 6,000+ dead out of a population of about 1.9 million would not be a "sandbox" worth--that is the equivalent of close to a million Americans killed in our population of about 280 million.

Saddam and Slobo seem to have a lot of the same interests--hopefully they get along well--they will for sure be spending a lot of time together in hell.

To date, ICMP has collected 8,816 blood samples, representing a total of 3263 missing persons from the conflict in Kosovo. That number will rise as ICMP collects more blood samples. In addition, ICMP has received a total of 2,657 bone samples (representing 2189 different individuals), 1,719 of which were received from UNMIK and 938 from the CCK. ICMP has also delivered a total of 915 DNA match reports back to the relevant authority from which we received the initial bone sample, representing 889 different individuals. So far 361 cases have been closed.    Source

You were saying something?

The only thing festering around here are the lies and disinformation people keep inserting onto these threads, burkeman.
