Teens held for smashing 'decadent' SUVs

A teenage self-described environmental guerrilla led a group of peers in vandalizing almost 50 sport utility vehicles in Houston, police charge.

According to the Houston Chronicle, local law-enforcement authorities say the group, led by Randall W. Heinrichs, 18, smashed windows and slashed tires on SUVs in north Harris County, Texas, from October through December.

Capt. Rick Brass says Heinrichs "talks about how [SUVs] are environmentally unfriendly [and] decadent," the paper reported. The officer says the teenager has a "personal hatred" for sport utility vehicles.

Heinrichs is on probation for felony arson in a flag-burning case.

While Heinrichs was nabbed Jan. 9, two other teenage suspects were arrested Tuesday. The ringleader is being held without bail because of his arson probation. The other suspects had bail set at $5,000. A fourth suspect was expected to turn himself in to authorities.

The words odious and insipid come to mind. At any given time, I have a passel of Boy Scouts I'm hauling around, or my 188lb Saint Bernard - who will NOT fit into one of those itty-bitty Reynold's-wrap-on-wheels new age Yugo's... The Geo Metro or whatever its called.

And as for charity work, I'm willing to bet little miss hateful doesn't do JACK! I chair the food pantry at our church, headed up for my department the Employee Charitible Contribution Campaign, and the Warm Up Greeley blanket drive, amoung several other charitible efforts....I can do all this because I have lots of room in my 'decadent' Ford Expedition!!

One has to wonder what these young criminals would do when they started to object to large houses, burn them? When all the SUVs are trashed, will big cars then medium, then small cars be next? What if they get on the PETA bandwagon (rolling looney bin) and object to furs and meat eaters? Stab the "offenders?"

This is a perfect opportunity for ann object lesson to other ignorant self righteous little weasels. Make an example of them, and let them suffer the not so tender mercies of their new boyfriend in prison.

I believe that Texas is one of the few States that gives it's citizens that right and just like you said bandleader, Rush predicted this and he was absolutely right. The Enviro-whacko's are insane, they attack anything they perceive as luxury or gas guzzler. But if they want to get technical they need to burn their own oil burner as well because it's using the same environmental killing Oil as the SUV. They're just to stupid to realize it.

Just in case...A) I am not arrogant. I would say, however, that folks who take it upon themselves to make a statement while performing destructive, violent acts, ARE. B) I don't drive over the speed limit, unlike those folks who fly by me in their Subaroos (25-30 over the limit, popping from lane to lane, is the norm for the 'Sube-riche' set). I have children, and often taxi other people's kids around in my "Arrogant Lady" vehicle. I don't take chances with the lives of children.
