Bush Earned Our Hate

I would like to say a kind word about George W. Bush: He's usually not as dumb as he pretends to be.

Acting dumb is Bush's style. He likes to sandbag people. He plays dumb, people underestimate him and, all of a sudden -- wap! He nails them.

Oh, that stuff is really disgusting. And, you know what, I sometimes wonder how many people would have been exposed to that or to the Maplethorpe (sp?) photos had they not been subjected to all the publicity generated by those who opposed them.

"Looking at the surplus Bill Clinton left behind, ....-snip-"

We had a surplus because we'd been over-taxed. Clinton raised taxes.

Bush Earned Our Hate...

Let me guess: he blew cigar smoke in your face while driving over your pink flamingo in his pickup truck?

Aw, come on. If you have to gripe about something, why choose this? This is so boring and mundane.

It also lacks any basis in reality.

We had a surplus because, first of all, Reagonomics worked. Tax cuts work. Bush 41 and BJ raised taxes to skim more cream for the government. And we had a major bubble that brought in buku revenue. The bubble is to noone's credit or fault. Meanwhile, Clinton's domestic team with Greenspan did an OK job of pushing the Keynesian economics buttons.

The bubble burst, as all bubbles do. That is to noone's credit or fault. I have the feeling the economy would have been more robust, the recession less, if those taxes had not been raised.

So, say Kerry gets 45%, Bush gets 40%, and Tancredo gets 8% ( a stretch, I know, but work with me), a Kerry presidency is my fault? Oh, I get it now.

Harley Sorenson COULD be labelled an anti-Christian since MOST of his hatred of Bush seems to stem from Bush's Christianity.

Why did you respond to him? Why oh why oh why? He was looking for attention. He's so desperate. He found a thread that had just started and jumped on it -- hoping against hope that somebody, somewhere in FReeperland would pounce on his nonsensical asinine statement.

Don't encourage the boy.

Is Jim Cain as big an arse as I think he is?

I wouldn't be suprised if there's a LeRoy in the family.

I'm not sure if this author is stupid or just disengenuous and thinks that we are stupid. The left hates Bush for a host of reasons, none of which are listed in this article. They hate him most of all because he displaced them in the power structure and has made great strides in reversing the a lot of the leftist agenda that was accomplished under the Clinton administration. It's too bad that there is still a lot of damage that needs to be fixed, because there is no money to fix it.

I did like the fact that Bush's budget cuts the GSA by 52%. That made me smile.

You are so right. Mr. Sorenson is just mad because Bush can get the best of them.

In the dems search for monsters, they have become monsters themselves.

You ever heard of the 10th Amendment?

Yes, actually I've heard about all the amendments so far. If you were to challenge the power of Congress to fund the arts and were to remind the court of the Tenth Amendment, the court would tell you that the Tenth Amendment only applies to "[t]he powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution."

Like I said, the courts just aren't activist enough to restrain the Congress unless the Congress violates some specific constitutional limitation. The Lopez and Morrison cases just don't seem to have enough thrust to really go anywhere significant.

The key to reducing the size of the federal government is the election of representatives who are motivated to do that.

The point I hope to get to in this little essay is that those of us who dislike Bush did not simply get up one morning and decide we were going to hate him. He had to earn our antipathy.

Bravo Sierra. Piles and piles of it.

They didn't like his father and hate him, Jeb, Neil, Barbara, the Bush twins... Nothing apart from a full recanting of his father's views (like some of Reagan's kids did) would have earned George W. Bush respect from the left.

These same people never wanted to admit to any failings in Bill Clinton. That they now oppose a military strategy that they one time supported is not to be discussed.

The left is rabid with their hate. Sad to say it is not just hatred of President Bush or conservative politics. They hate traditional American families. They hate American businesses. Plain and simple they hate sovereign America.
