Nguyen Cao Ky repeatedly sought to undermine President Thieu, who, it can be argued, under the circumstances he had to work in, was a better president than LBJ.

.

I will NEVER FORGET the tears in President THIEU's eyes when he finally saw that America was not ever going to come to South Vietnam's aid at the end as his country was disintegrating under incoming Communist Tanks and Artillery, bought and paid for by the Soviets.

The Democrats in Congress stopped the flow to the South of Ammo, Guns, Artillery, Shells, Helicopters, helicopter parts, aircraft and aircraft parts.

Hard to fight when you ain't got the tools to fight with..?

What happened to Thieu after the takeover/overrunning/loss of Saigon, or did he hop a chopper too. Guess I'll take a look at Yahoo/Google.

Nine days after Nguyen Van Thieu's (21 Apr 75)resignation, the Vietnam war ended with the fall of Saigon. Thieu escaped to begin a life in exile - first in London, then in Boston.

He died in Massachusetts in September 2001.

Not exactly sure what this post is trying to accomplish. Cao Ky has been back in VN for about a month so far. Ky's return has been widely covered both before and during his trip back. His every move and action there has been watched like a hawk; both by the communists and by those who would like to report back to the USA with their own brand of stories.

His move back there has been widely covered in both the Nguoi Viet Press and the Orange County Register newspapers. His few comments have been things along the line of..."...the future of Viet Nam is in the hands of the youth.".."...all must cooperate to rebuild Viet Nam to face the future..." These kinds of comments for press consumption.

He has made no secret of his actions there. His daughter is with him, she is a lawyer in Cali and a wife is also with him there. Not sure how long either of them will stay there in VN.

Most American are completely unfamiliar with how the rumor mill works in the Vietnamese community. Ky's departure creates a vaccancy in the higher levels of the American Vietnamese hierarchy. This must be filled. So now...the battle to fill this vaccuum has begun.

Its politics, plain and simple. Bala belu...Belu bala...the games go on. No need for false outrage...its beyond our domain....lol.

Brigadier General Le Van Tu

Who is this guy?
And what's his beef?
So big deal, Ky wants to go back to his homeland and check things out.
That makes him a "filthy traitor"?
Methinks there's more to the story here - like maybe politics in the California Vietnamese community, eh?

...While NGUYEN CAO KY is telling the world's Press that he is doing what he can for Vietnam while there...

...the Comunists are also calling him a liar to the BBC and the like.

The Vietnamese-American Communities across America have been fighting for FREEDOM's Return to Vietnam for decades without NGUYEN CAO KY's help or leadership.

Vietnamese-Americans simly want for their homeland what they lovingly have in their new home ...FREEDOM ...which KY is willing to forgoe under Communism for his own sake regardless of the pain it causes others he led in War.

"I thought he was Vice President. When was he President?"

I believe you are right. Wasn't Theu (sp) the pres when the South fell? Ky was the sharply dressed dude with attitude.

Spent 5 hours at the Protest today. Lovely day...not too hot. Started to cool off around 4:30 p.m.

Enjoyed the military speakers. The politicians were doing what politicians have done thru-out history - Making Promises and saying what they think people want them to say.

Nguyen Cao Ky returned to USA on Feb 12th. I am certain there will be some response to todays Protest in Nguoi Viet and maybe even OC Register. I look forward to it.

The patriotism and loyalty displayed to day was very powerful.

I'd suggest you try to hire on with a big international outfit and express your interest in the country of your choice. The more miserable the country is considered to be, the better your chances. You might consider Peat Marwick or Deloitte and Touche if you have any connections.

Otherwise, if you want to visit VN, you can do so for about $700 round trip airfare (last I heard) on Asiana air from Dallas or the Left coast. Then, I could point you toward a decent little hotel, clean and good a/c, for under $20 per night. After that, I could tell you where to go for just about anything you're looking for from young women to Chinese medicine to "exotic" foods.

Best,

Gary

Anyone who reads a newspaper in VN is consuming the propaganda of the Commie government - the news is strictly controlled by the weasels in Hanoi. I read the papers just to fill the time over a few cold ones in the afternoon.

...Feelings ran high and the pain ran deep today at Little Saigon's Rally vs NGUYEN CAO KY and JOHN KERRY ...held on behalf of FREEDOM for Vietnam.

...These Freedom Fighters and Appreciaters have been very much hurt by their former Wartime Leader KY who has now turned himself over to the Terrorist side he was once fighting.

...Vietnamese-Americans now understand precisely how we Vietnam Vets felt when JOHN KERRY came home from fighting Terrorists in Vietnam long ago to call American Soldiers ...Terrorists on our TV's.

...I enjoyed waving my yellow Free Flag of Vietnam while wearing my yellow 1st Cavalry Division Jacket ...yelling out "FREEDOM" to the multitudes today along the way.
