What Bush vs Kerry is really all about
Jim Robinson

Posted on 02/16/2004 8:16:44 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Forget the current hullabaloo regarding the thirty some odd year old service records of the two candidates and all the other hysterical, hypocritical, hyperbolic horse hockey being raised by the Democrats and their operatives.

Here's the commonsense bottom line of what the coming election is about:

Either we re-elect President Bush or we allow President Kerry and the Democrats to surrender our national sovereignty, our national security and our national defense to the United Nations and other so-called world government bodies. The Democrats do not believe that war is sometimes necessary to defend the nation and or our national interests. The Democrats do not believe that the United States has the right to self-defense. The Democrats do not care about our national security or defending our national sovereignty. It's not in their game plan. In fact their game plan includes acquiescing to the United Nations, a world court and a world government. There's absolutely no doubt about it. It's in the record.

Either we re-elect President Bush or we allow President Kerry and the Democrats to increase our taxes and continue increasing our taxes until they totally destroy our economy and our ability to compete in world markets. Bush is a sworn tax cutter. Kerry is a sworn tax raiser. No doubt about it. It's in the record.

Either we re-elect President Bush or we allow President Kerry and the Democrats to kiss off our traditional man/woman marriage and from this point on it'll be anything goes. Bush defends traditional family values and a moral society. Kerry promotes the feminist/abortionist/homosexualist agenda, no matter how absurd, perverse, abhorrent or evil. No doubt about it. It's in the record.

Either we re-elect President Bush or we allow President Kerry and the Democrats to appoint and confirm nothing but NOW/NAMBLA/Globalist approved feminist/abortionist/homosexualist liberal activist judges. Bush will appoint judges who will abide by the Constitution. Kerry and the Democrats will appoint and confirm only liberal activist judges. Allow this and we can kiss our Constitution and what's left of our national sovereignty and freedom goodbye. No doubt about it. It's in the record. Period. End of story.

You (we) made the right decision. Focus on the Dems for now - focus on (what's left of) the border after the elections.

The "Anti - - Anti-war" Wave. What Should It Be? What Should It Look Like?

I'm not really an idiot, I just play one on Free Republic. When it comes down to it none of us are going to give our vote to an obvious traitor. This isn't even a case of voting for the lesser evil. This election will result in separating the Americans from the people who don't deserve to live here, the Running Dogs of Clintonism. They're goin' to blow up good...blow up reeeeal good.

For us to be under attack right here at our conservative homebase was something I never expected and has made me withdrawn.

I was/am happy to debate those who disagree with the Bush proposal. That is what we do here.

What happened, all too often, was that the people against the proposal started flaming those who were for it and sometimes in reverse(not often though). I was in the middle of some of that, so I got a face full and still am.

Most of the debate was civil however. The few who refused to use proper debate etiquette may have gotten a few days off, I do not know.

The majority of the debates that I had were civil, but heated occasionally.

IMO, your assessment is correct. This is not the time to attempt to change policy. Election years are one year that it cannot be done without hurting the party by giving the rats ammo.

The immigration proposal will not get a vote this year. You can bet the farm on it.

We can have at it again, after the inauguration.

Jim, I'm with you 101%. We are at war and we NEED President Bush back in the White House. It is an imperative. The demrats will absolutely ruin this nation. The things these rats are spewing about tonight are bone chilling.

We need to convince the soccer moms of this, otherwise they'll vote for Kerry like lemmings....unless we hang the repeal of Bush's child tax break around his neck. That they'd understand.

I think the problem is that some of the "new age" GOP view our critique of the Liberalism and globalism within to be a critique of Bush. Nothing could be further from the truth. My critique is of the lack of differentiation between the increasingly in vogue "GOP lite" approach and the DNC planks. The danger with that is that by taking a liberal, globalist approach vis a vis immigration and depatriotization of corporate America, we actually hand *key* issues that the *average* voter with a short attention span can relate to (such as jobs, illegal immigration, national sovereignty, borders, language and culture) on a silver platter to Kerry. We have thus far failed to carve out the *leading* position on these issues, and they are now being defined by the DNC - our freedom of action is now quite limited. That is my critique. It is intended to help Bush win, but I fear we may be too late.

I'll lay it out on this front: There needs to be room on the conservative side to debate immigration. I don't want immigration to become for the Republicans what abortion is to the Democrats: a litmus test.

There are a number of conservatives (Jack Kemp, Linda Chavez, Newt Gingrich, Malcolm Wallop, Steve Moore, and Grover Norquist among them) who support the President's plan. I support their views on this issue. The question is, do those who support the President's proposal deserve to be treated by conservatives in the same manner pro-life Democrats are treated by their national party?

No, they don't.
However, this is about the only issues that "sticks" to Bush so it will be pounded by those that want Bush out in '04.
They will fail.

Walkin Man: Don't do the wrong thing and vote for the Socialist Democrats. You'll only being digging your own hole deeper. If you really feel that way about the GOP, then join me and others in taking it back. The Right need to stop allowing the Left to divide and conquer us. Forget about divide, together, *we* can conquer. First, we need to conquer the GOP. Then, some key states which we lost during the 1990s - California, New Mexico, and nearly, Florida. There are others as well. Then, we conquer the country. But we'll do none of this if Communist Kerry gets elected. We must progress from a known foothold, never losing our focus. Again, please join me.

The key to what you want is to make the GOP less dependent on having two faced bag men helping us out. There is only one way to accomplish this - look in the mirror and get to work. You say you like hard work - well, there is plenty of it to be done in order to turn this mess around.

No doubt, the stakes are very high. One of the things that frustrated GOPers among us can do, is to participate in surveys such as the following, in order to exert influence on candidates and turn frustration into constructive feedback. We need to manage our candidates more firmly. There is a big difference between tough love and no love; I wish more could see this. The survey: Click here. Don't leave web based organizing to the Deaniacs, we can do it way better and we have real candidates! ;)

I work around doctors a fair amount of the time. Dean really has the personality. I wasn't surprised at all when he melted down - they just aren't used to being questioned and can't handle it when they are.
