So many tagline possibilities there...
I like this: Look at Kerry's stump speech: ''We band of brothers,'' he says, indicating his fellow veterans. ''We're a little older, we're a little grayer, but we still know how to fight for this country.'' Thirty years ago, he came back from Vietnam and denounced his ''band of brothers'' as a gang of drug-fueled torturers, rapists and murderers

The vast majority of Vietnam vets know and fully understand the essence of Kerry. He is not fooling them.
...the Bob Hope USO tour Kerry of today
I like Steyn, but to use the USO and Bob Hope to to characterize Kerry's campaign revulses me. Kerry isn't fit to be the latrine attendant for the USO.

My humble opinion is John Kerry did no more, no less than many others who saw combat in Vietnam. He is not a war hero except to bedazzled liberal commentators who don't know what a real war hero is.
Kerry parted ways with others who served honorably by betraying those still in Vietnam via extremist war protests. Come election time, John Kerry has been cynically mining his Vietnam service for years. Same as Max Cleland of the dropped hand grenade.

Gen. Giap: Kerry's Group Helped Hanoi Defeat U.S.
The North Vietnamese general in charge of the military campaign that finally drove the U.S. out of South Vietnam in 1975 credited a group led by Democratic presidential front-runner John Kerry with helping him achieve victory.
In his 1985 memoir about the war, Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap wrote that if it weren't for organizations like Kerry's Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Hanoi would have surrendered to the U.S. - according to Fox News Channel war historian Oliver North.
That's why, he predicted on Tuesday, the Vietnam War issue "is going to blow up in Kerry's face."
"People are going to remember Gen. Giap saying if it weren't for these guys [Kerry's group], we would have lost," North told radio host Sean Hannity.
"The Vietnam Veterans Against the War encouraged people to desert, encouraged people to mutiny - some used what they wrote to justify fragging officers," noted the former Marine lieutenant colonel, who earned two purple hearts in Vietnam.
"John Kerry has blood of American soldiers on his hands," North said.

Ask [Democrat Presidential hopefuls] anything about foreign policy, and they sing like the Von Trapp children, "We need to get the U.N. in there." -Mark SteynI'm sick of the old cliches. Bring me some new cliches. -Sam Goldwyn
Few people are so in need of some new cliches as the Democratic Party. -Mark Steyn
I heard a rumor that after the convention, the Democrat nominee will actually enunciate where he plans to take the country. Somehow, I utterly cannot picture that. All they do, over and over, is point to every bad thing that happens and wail that it is George Bush's fault.

"John Kerry has blood of American soldiers on his hands," North said.
Yes, he was a war hero. But a war hero who goes on to commit crimes is also a criminal.
As someone here in FR said recently, if a war hero goes on to become a serial killer, what do we call him, a war hero? No. A serial killer.
If a war hero becomes a traitor...

FReeper The Spotted Owl and I teamed up for this citizen's campaign ad
George Bush honorably served his country during the Vietnam War, but didn't get any medals.
George Bush "We will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of the United States."
John Kerry served during the Vietnam War, won many medals, then threw some one else's medals back in his country's face.
John Kerry accused his fellow soldiers of rape, baby killing and torture, and his country of war crimes.
John Kerry Im an internationalist, Kerry told The Crimson in 1970. Id like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations.
America needs a leader with morals, honor, and vision. Not a leader who will ask for a UN permission slip to protect America.
Bush/Cheney in 2004.

Kerry
I thank you for your service,
Way back in Viet Nam.
But that is no free ticket,
To let you pull this scam.
You spit upon our nation,
Betrayed our young brave men.
You called them baby killers,
Its not true now, nor then.
You sir are just low life scum,
You prey upon rich chicks.
I hope Teresa sees the light,
And dumps your bag of tricks.
Ill vote for Bush this coming fall,
And pray that you dont win.
For if you win, we all will lose,
Our freedom will cave in.
