Both Ashford, who has a daughter from his failed marriage, and Markussen claim to be celibate pedophiles, which they say has led to a feeling of emptiness in their lives.

"For a long time, I found a physical level of satisfaction by having relationships with adult women or with teenage girls over the age of consent," said Ashford, who claims to have twice tried to take his own life. But "emotional or spiritual satisfaction is not a possibility. The feeling of futility leaves me frequently sad and depressed."

"Most pedophiles lead a terrible life," Markussen said. "They can't tell anybody about their feelings. They have to fake interest in adults. Many live in social isolation which leads to weirdness."

I don't know what's more revolting, their depraved desires or the fact that they expect me to feel sorry for them.

Both Ashford and Markussen maintain they have never been arrested for having sexual relations with minors.

It wasn't until five years ago, at the age of 30, that Ashford realized why his brief marriage and his countless flings across the United States and Europe always ended the same.

Ashford is a gun lover.

For most of his life, he has buried his emotions and masked his long-secreted attraction. It wasn't until recently that Ashford decided to throw off the shackles of gunophilia and shed light on what he says is a misunderstood "past time orientation." Last year, he became perhaps one of the first gunophiles in the world to put his name and face on a Web site to publicly profess his love for fire arms.

"I am tired of being forced into the shadows by society," Ashford said recently in an e-mail interview. "I have committed no crime, therefore there is no good reason that I should have to hide myself. As long as gunophiles continue to hide, there is no chance of them ever being accepted."

Ashford, an American expatriate living in the south of France, believes it is time the public learned gunophiles are different from people who play golf in that they enjoy a romantic and emotional, but not always sexual, connection with fire arms. He also believes it is time for a guns’ rights movement that will give gun owners more say in how to live their lives.

Ashford, 35, an unemployed business consultant, is part of a pioneering group of gunophiles from around the world who also believe gunophilia is not a hobby disorder that can be cured by medication and psychotherapy. He believes, rather, that it is a hobby with which he was born, and therefore, cannot deny.

This is a view shared by numerous pro-gun groups around the world. In the United States, the most notorious may be the NRA.

According to its Web site, NRA’s goal is to end the "extreme oppression" of gun owners and the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
NRA representatives did not return telephone messages left at their offices seeking comment, but the association's Web site is clear about its agenda.

"NRA calls for the empowerment of gun owners in all areas, not just the active shooters. We support greater economic, political and social opportunities for gun owners and denounce the rampant anti-gunism that segregates and isolates them in fear and mistrust." We support the rights of gun owners as well as adults to choose the partners with whom they wish to share and enjoy their guns.

This perverted bit of fringe elements' behavior places our children at risk. That is fact.

From every concept of normal, these people are not. Yes, the definition of "normal" is under attack so that they can claim their perversions as normal.

The queer life style demands recruitment through youthful experiementation. Queer folk advertise because they are such a non-self-replacing genetic deadend. Their advertisement has lately become an in-your-face display meant to agitate and recruit. The entertainment industry is straining making homosexuality "funny".

Nature or nurture? Some such abnormal people are either genetic mistakes (from the sexual reproduction life form we are) or perverted from normal by life's experiences, certainly the only driving force creating pedophiles.

Marry they cannot because marriage is defined by our culture affirmed in law as union between one man and one woman. Tough luck.

I do like any homo who foists their queerness into open social intercourse and I will never tolerate the grooming of children for precocious adult gratifications.

IMO, because there has become such a concentration of these queer folk in media industries, their displays of self are now foisted off into our lives through entertainment, fashion marketing, news media, and now high officials' outlaw behavior under color of law - all purported to be normal.

No proven pedophile's freedom is worth the risk of exposure to another child. Mandatory life isolated in prison is our only safe reponse, our duty.

Anyone who flaunts their sexual proclivities to anyone is guilty of assault, lewd and licensious assault. The line crossing to pedophilia is but determined by the victim's birthdate. In this now Queer Nation, what court will protect us from such assault?

Speaking on behalf of society, we really could give a **** what you want, ya know?

Sexual problems such as this are progressive in nature. It hardly helps matters when the afflicted chooses a course of rationalization and normalization rather than recognition and treatment.

An additional problem this guy has (often shared by drug addicts) is all the other pedophiles who will form a support network to tell him it's okay and that society is wrong, narrow minded, bigoted, they don't "get it" etc..

Since this type of addict has an incredibly high rate of recidivism even when voluntarily seeking treatment, the future does not look bright for Mr. Short Eye er, Ashford.. rather.

I have always wondered at the attempt to seperate the two: Pedophelia and Homosexuality.

The gay's claim they aren't necessarily child molesters. Okay, maybe not.

But for 1% of the population, they sure seem to be doing more than 1% of the molestations.

I would like to see a study on the percentage of same Vs opposite sex molestations and see just how strongly the "homosexual community" is represented there.
