Deborah..I never even heard of "Danish Pedophile Association" until this article. The slippery slope could be halted if someone in our country could simply get the strength to stop talking out of both sides of their mouths. One the one hand, they have a national center for missing children, but on the other, they don't have the GUTS to fight against nambla, and other similar organizations. They should have never been allowed to be even recognized in our country officially let alone be formed and allowed to um protest our child safe laws..

J_hoffa, Is this really a sexual problem? Maybe we should think of it as a severe mental illness that falls inline with the power control of rapists. Since we have the problem of recidivism...(which to me means non-curable) it wouldn't bother me a bit to keep them locked up forever and throw away the key.

Pedophilia is a sexual-orientation, like heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, etc...

Pedophiles often have tough and unhappy lives, since they are not permitted to express who they are... Realize that pedophiles are not going away! A person cannot change his/her orientation any more than a dalmation can avoid spots.

The bottom line is pedophiles must no longer be victims of hate-crimes and censorship for their beliefs. We must unite and stand against intolerance until we are accepted like gays are. My being a pedophile is simply a sexual-orientation, nothing more.

I would like to see a study on the percentage of same Vs opposite sex molestations and see just how strongly the "homosexual community" is represented there.

Here's an excerpt from a NARTH article pointing the way further down the slippery slope: International Academy of Sex Research Joins the Debate: Is Pedophilia a Mental Disorder?

The Archives of Sexual Behavior published a special edition in December 2002 to discuss whether pedophilia should remain a mental disorder.

Opening the debate was Richard Green, M.D., J.D. a widely known writer specializing in homosexuality and gender-identity issues. Green argued in favor of removing pedophilia from the diagnostic manual (DSM).

Green was one of the clinicians who, in the 1973, took the side of gay activists to argue for removing homosexuality from the diagnostic manual.

In a second article in the Archives, "The Dilemma of the Male Pedophile," Gunter Schmidt, D. Phil., makes a sympathetic case for the pedophile who, Schmidt says, must "remain abstinent for significant periods of time" and "lead a life of self-denial at significant emotional cost." Schmidt calls for a new, "enlightened discourse on morality" with the recognition that "in view of the pedophile's burden, the necessity of denying himself the experience of love and sexuality," he deserves society's respect.

Furthermore, Schmidt argues, molested children do not always appear to be harmed. A 1998 study by Bruce Rind, he notes, found that many boys grow up to have positive or neutral memories of their man-boy sexual experiences....

Actually, Frankel and the ACLU have taken a stand -- by their silence, they support NAMBLA. And this is not at all surprising.

The fact of the matter is, they're on record as supporting "sexual rights." I think they really can't see why the government should have any say over whether some fat pervert can't have sex with some impressionable kid. After all, saying "no" to this would be "legislating morality."

The ACLU, like so many modern-day libertines, does not believe that ideas such as "right" and "wrong" have any definition other than what political considerations say they should be.

Further, they believe that nothing -- literally nothing -- is more important than a "fundamental right" to sexual expression. If you scratch the surface of almost any leftist discussion of morals, you will find this idea lurking at the bottom. Thus we see it in fashion design, abortion, "mature" TV content, ordination of homosexual clergy, same-sex marriage, and so on.
