Osama's Last Stand? U.S. Forces Have Bin Laden 'Surrounded' - Report February 21, 2004 mensnewsdaily.com According to a British newspaper, U.S. special forces have Osama bin Laden 'surrounded' and 'boxed in' on the northwest border of Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Sunday Express is reporting that the fugitive terrorist leader has been "sighted" and is now being monitored by satellite. The report quotes a Washington intelligence insider, saying, "He (bin Laden) is boxed in." Yesterday, Whitehouse spokesman Scott McClellan denied reports that bin Laden had been captured. "That would be news to everybody in this room," McClellan told reporters. "No, I haven't heard anything - haven't heard anything like that." Meanwhile the Washington Post today published the first of a two-part series claiming that the search for bin Laden has been plagued by political disputes and near-misses. According to the Post, between 1998 and 2000, the CIA and the Clinton Administration were paralyzed over policy disputes involving the legalities of engaging in covert operations inside Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. Last week, the commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan said the effort to find bin Laden and Taliban leader Mullah Omar was entering a new phase. U.S. Army Lt. Gen. David Barno said the "sand in their hour glass is running out." Barno said that the new operation would employ a "hammer and anvil approach" that would use Pakistan military forces as a Pakistan-based "anvil" against which U.S. forces would "hammer" al Qaeda fugtives from the Afghan side of the boarder. Tonight the Discovery Channel will be broadcasting a program exploring The Search for Osama Bin Laden. Report filed by Mike LaSalle

Lets hope so.

I do have mixed feelings on how i would like it to go down. Personally i would be just fine with it if he catches an RPG in the mouth. On the other hand i would love to show video of him getting the Hussien louse and cavity workup all over the mideast.

One thing concerns me. when he is captured or killed democrats will start screaming for an immediate end to the war on terror.

Unlikely. Even they know how risky that would be; another terror attack would make fools out of them, and no one wants to bet that there won't be another terror attack.

Although it is hard to overestimate the foolishness of liberals and Democrats; they can be as wrong as they like, and the press lets them get away with it.

With regard to your concerns, I predict that, If Bin Laden is taken care of, the Democrats will be saying that "the timing seems suspicious" and will be hinting to anyone who will listen that the whole thing was a set-up; that President Bush let him stay free as long as he did for political purposes, and now has taken him out for political purposes too.

And Bob Schieffer will discuss this on Face The Nation, and Frontline will do a documentary about the theory just before the election.

I hope and pray this is true as well. This recent "bin Laden is surrounded" article has made the rounds in the foreign press over the weekend. Each article simple reiterated the first report that appeared in The Sunday Express, the tabloid that claimed the Kurds actually caught Saddam.

I'm sorry to hear about your cousin.

No doubt, by now, bin Laden could be tracked by smell alone.
If he -has- been sighted, he must have been seen from the front or back, since from the side he's probably like a toothpick.

Like a duck in a noose.

Sure, bin Laden is surrounded. The troops who surround him are at distances of hundreds or thousands of miles.

NEVER FORGET WHAT THOSE BASTARDS DID TO US! NEVER!

I feel AQ is waiting on the Presidential election. If a dim wins we will be attacked.AQ feels like they will have a free ride for at least 4 years, since we will revert to a police action against terrorism They don't want to attack now for fear of President Bush regaining 80+ approval ratings. AQ is pulling for the eventual dim candidate.

Never forget, indeed.

There's a stark contrast between the cry of the patriot: "Never Forget!"

...and the gutless, impatient whine of those who just want to get back to taking what they can get from this country: "Move On."
