For Conversational Purposes... The Hispanic Club, the Chess Club and the Gay and Lesbian Alliance are just some of the clubs that have displays in the hallways of Portland schools.
But after the Bible Club at Marshall High School (search) put a Bible and some other Christian books in a display case, some teachers complained to the principal. After a call to the district's lawyer, the display was taken down.
District officials said they felt the display gave the impression that the school was endorsing Christianity

Why do Christians suffer so much hate?, and all of the other jokers get free speech!
To: rovenstinez
Because they hated Him first. But then, our Heavenly Father told us there would be days like this.

(Just my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary. You have the right to be wrong.)

Yep. Hating Christians is the last acceptable prejudice. If you need to know why, don't ask.

Simple. Bibles and Christian books are hate speech. All the other examples are simply expressions of the right to free speech from the minorities being oppressed by the Christian hate speech.
We're entering the age of thought control, friends.

I just can't believe that we have "Gay and Lesbian Alliances" officially sanctioned as school-recognized organizations.
How about a "Muff-Diving Jocks / Cheerleader Smoothie Alliance"? Shouldn't they get official school sanction too?

District officials said they felt the display gave the impression that the school was endorsing Christianity Bet if the Islamic Club put a Koran out, nobody would care.

"Does that mean that the school IS endorsing Homosexuality?"
They would deny it, but actions speak louder than words. Yes, they are endorsing homosexuality, and yes, they do not want to appear to be endorsing Christianity.

Oops sorry I misread the article. They don't want to join, they simply don't want to SEE a Bible or a club for it. Even the devil trembles when it comes to God ... .
