The Hollywood Left will be after Mel. Not only did he persist in making a movie they didn't want him to make, he's making the unforgivable offense of having it be a BLOCKBUSTER

Imagine... The man who produced "The Passion," refusing to denounce his father... How dare Mel Gibson follow the commandment to honor his father! The nerve of the man!

Two things in this letter:
- Ms Waxman is not really honest about Gibson and Shoah denial. Yeah, Gibson senior is a denier (which to me is insane... I have seen so much evidence with my own eyes, including stuff that is not public, that it really bothers me when people try to deny that the Nazis tried to exterminate Jews, and that if it hadn't been for losing the war, they might have succeeded).
But Mel is not a denier. Every time he's been asked, he has said that the Shoah is fact, that it is undeniable. He condemns it in unmistakeable words. Yet the writer left that out, letting readers draw the implication that Mel is a holocaust denier because he won't savage his father for teh edification of TV voyeurs.
- Is it just me or is their something very weird about a Jewish writer writing an article accusing Gibson of anti-Semitism, and saying -- as I take the main thrust of this article -- "the most influential people here are all Jews and they will punish him for offending us..." I mean, what's next? Are they gonna form a mob and drag him to the authorities, screaming "Crucify him"?
For the record, I don't believe most Jews, in Hollywood or out, are looking to harm Gibson for this film. I do know many Jews who have heard the press's drumbeat of propaganda on this, and who are legitimately fearful that the film will lead to anti-Semitism.
I think SauronOfMordor is right in framing this as, not the Jewish/Christian conflict that the writer Waxman tries to incite, but as an issue of the Hollywood LEFT, which has an established religion of militant fundamentalist atheism, against normal people of whatever faith.

After Mel Gibson puts about 200 million bucks in his pocket I doubt if he'll worry about working for Dreamworks.
Dustin Hoffman has talked to friends about what he called Mr. Gibson's "strangeness" during the ABC interview.

Just shows you how intolerant and bigoted the left really is.
Maybe they need a new ribbon to wear to show their bigotry of Christianity.

Maybe Mel should just start up a new hollywood. He could open up shop wherever he wants and just produce good film. Eventually, the good actors will come to him and hollyweird will just wither away.
If the public had a choice between the pap that is served up by those unimaginative, worn out, has beens who recycle crap because they can't think of anything new and something decent, the public would choose decent every time.

This movie proves how hungry the public is for movies of substance rather than the shallow-minded trash that has come out of Hollywood for the last 10 to 15 years.

Hollywood sees only one color, green.
Spielberg is ok to make schiner's list and not be accused of exploiting.
Next time Gibson will not have a hard time finding a distributor, IF he even wants one.
If hollweird big wigs make a bible story of their own, that is vidication for gibson.
On thing is definite, any deviant projects are dead in the water. No homosexual rewrites of historic figures. No feminazified women.
What happens if the public has the ability to choose between pc fare and NON-pc fare? Hollyweird is filling their depends.

Dreamworks is jealous. No one gave Spielberg for being passionate about Schindler. I'm sure he offended thousands of doddering old Nazis..
