""One question is, `What propelled him to make the movie about the passion of Christ?' " Mr. Medavoy said. "It makes me a little squeamish. What makes me squeamish about religion in general is that people think they have the answer: `I think my God is the right God.' How do you argue against that?"
True. Jesus speaks and ultimately acts out of a love and forgiveness that transcends what humanity practices as love and forgiveness. Mr. Medavoy should be happy that this is onscreen and hammered home to millions of Christians.
I think the left is realizing too, that we aren't listening to them. Their shrill drumbeat of name-calling and browbeating is now falling on deaf ears.

"People here will work with the anti-Christ if he'll put butts in seats." Mr. Lesher addedYeah, but they'll avoid Jesus like the plague, unless it's a movie that trashes Him!

Many in the relentlessly secular movie industry see his recent religious conversion he practices a traditionalist version of Roman Catholicism as another form of addiction.ROTF! But actors/producers ingesting millions in cocaine are normal? Oil & water never mix - Christianity & Hollyweird are like light & darkness.

With the money Gibson will make on Passion he can continue to make HIS OWN films without Hollyweird...and THIS is what they fear....
Gibson has gone HIS own was with three films: We Were Soldiers, The Patriot, and now Passion....
Plus, it is my guess that if Gibson appealed to the PUBLIC to invest in his movie company, he would be bankrolled quite handsomely, and he could say to Hollywierd...."DON'T NEED YA!!!!"

If this movie and additional biblical movies by Mel Gibson, do very well, he'll be a major studio owner.

As previously uttered by Mel......"I don't care if this film takes me down..."
Saw it last night.....I'm still speechless...

I've noticed that nothing makes a leftist more "squeamish" than someone who is sure of themselves, has a good moral base, a good knowledge of the difference between right and wrong, and mostly - the will to act on that conviction.
Since the above describes George Bush to a "T" - they HATE him.

Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, the principals of DreamWorks, have privately expressed anger over the film, said an executive close to the two men.

Probably because their names aren't anywhere in the credits of this blockbuster... |

"If the movie works, I don't think it will hurt him," said John Lesher, an agent with Endeavor. "People here will work with the anti-Christ if he'll put butts in seats."Well, yes-that HAS been the business model...

Isn't it interesting that Hollywood wants us to cry big tears over the 1950's blacklisting but is doing the same thing to Mel Gibson. I think Gibson should file suit against Geffen, Speilberg, etc, for extortion and racketeering, which is what Hollywood is all about these days.

"leave it alone."What else could he say? "My old man's bonkers"? --well I guess that would be truthful.
Hey Mel, how about something like, "My father and I do not agree"???
"People here will work with the anti-Christ if he'll put butts in seats."
That sums up Hollywood--crude, tasteless, crass.

So quick to cut Mel loose.
But if you say "McCarthy" to Hollyweird, they cower in fear.

Boy the elites really lose it when exposed to anything akin to religious faith and convictions!
It's like sunlight hitting Dracula.

It's time for all knowledgeable, intelligent, conservative Christians to completely boycott Hollywood. I mean it's time to spread the word "If Hollywood blackballs Mel Gibson the entire Christian community nationwide needs to blackball Hollywood".
Snubbing Mel Gibson because of his movie, excuse me the Christian world's movie, they are snubbing all Christians.

"
The producer Mike Medavoy said Mr. Gibson's religious zealotry made him feel uncomfortable."
After being married four times and a supporter of the Clintoons, I should think the mere whisper of the word religion would make him "uncomfortable".

First, Mel obviously does not need these Hollyweird cretins.
Second, when the Hollyweird cretins see the money that The Passion brings in, they will be lining up to sign on for Gibson projects.

The NY Times stated:
"Hollywood is a close-knit world, and friendships and social contact are critical in the making of deals and the casting of movies. Many of Hollywood's most prominent figures are also Jewish."
Now wait just a darned minute (/sarcasm off) I thought we were all CRAZY Anti-Semites for (falsely) Holloywood of being dominated by rich jews ...
Me thinks the NY Times owes the Jewish Anti-Defammation League a BIG apology !

Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen,...
""""""""
Which one is the homosexual? Well there are two no votes for the oscars. I wonder if a write in campaign will be viable for "the passion"?
these two buffoons need to remember the dixie chix. Their fortunes are made 6-8 bucks at a time.
Somehow their objections remind me of the cultural protectors of the USSR. All "art" had to follow the commie party line.
Picture if you will the orignal mac commercial depicting a 1984 world. On the screen is one of these two p*nces. Running up is good ol mel throwing a sledgehammer into the screen.
Are there christians in hollywood? Just ordinary, working for a living actors and actresses?
