Predictable Hollywood response, I suppose.

I thought the common thought was that because Hollywood can put out filth and all that nonsense, that all they cared about was the bottom line...
Guess it depends on whose ox is getting gored.

`What propelled him to make the movie about the passion of Christ?' " Mr. Medavoy said. "It makes me a little squeamish. What makes me squeamish about religion in general is that people think they have the answer: `I think my God is the right God.' How do you argue against that?"But movies promoting the Religion of Communism are just all-right with them!

Poor Mel. When the pigs disown you for not being a pig, wring your hands incessantly.

Whoops! That is:

All the more reason to go see it. What will they say & do when the film takes in record amounts of $$$$ and moviegoers?

"is making some of Hollywood's most prominent executives uncomfortable in ways that may damage Mr. Gibson's career."
As if Mel Gibson gives a rat's arse. Such arrogant pompous blattering from the NY SLIMES. They just DON'T GET IT!!!
To: PBRSTREETGANG
calling on Mr. Gibson to repudiate his father's denial of the HolocaustHe's already done so, repeatedly. Heard it with my own ears.
Anyway Gibson got this one through without the cooperation of Hollywood, which he can continue to do in the future so long as his films remain compelling.

I wonder what would happen if Mel Gibson and other non-Jewish film directors/executives came out ranting about them when they make their movies that support their beliefs. There have been hundreds of movies about the holocaust and Jewish issues and I have seen many and have been moved by them. These people are hypocrites. Too bad there's not a word that corresponds with their hatred of Christians that would have the same power as the word "anti-semitism."

Strange how Jane Fonda posing on an antiaircraft battery in Hanoi and calling American soldiers "war criminals" never hurt her career in Hollywood but making a wonderful religious movie makes the man repeatedly voted America's favorite actor offlimits.

I'm pretty sure that after this, Gibson isn't going to have any trouble at all finding work or workers for anything he does. They are just trying to smear him.

Here is a message for the Jewish mafia in Hollywood. You can't win this battle, the numbers aren't on your side. Probably the best thing to do is smack your head against the wall, wake up and smell the roses. It is talk like this that does more to damage Judeo/Christian relations than Gibsons movie could ever do.

But he has also been known as a prankster and a self-confessed abuser of various substances. Many in the relentlessly secular movie industry see his recent religious conversion he practices a traditionalist version of Roman Catholicism as another form of addiction. "When did you stop beating your wife, Mr. Gibson?" Man, are they running scared.
His crime earlier in life? He acted just like everybody else in Hollywood and did drugs. Hollywood had no problem with this...while Mel did his Judy Garland and brought money into the Media Machine. But now, whew boy! I guess to the movie mogals no kind of addiction is bad...except when you are "addicted" to God.

Nonsense!
Mel produced and directed this film, this film will make a huge profit, therefore Mel will have ample opportunities to produce and direct more films.
BTW when you produce and direct it is your option to cast yourself, another job Mr. Gibson is talented at.
It is obvious to me that Hollywierd need Mel more than Mel needs Hollywierd.

Utter blather. Hollywood's religion is money. If Gibson's film brings in big bucks (as it looks like it will), all the people quoted in this article will be on their knees praying for the opportunity to work with him.
